Lords of the Fallen Devs Reveal Futuristic Sci-Fi Game, The Surge

Deck 13 and Focus Home Interactive revealed new story details for a new upcoming action—RPG The Surge. That being said not much is known about the game other than the concept art below and the tidbits of story we’ve received from the devs.

In what feels like a foretelling of our future, the game seems to explore familiar notions of man vs machine, information overload, perhaps government corruption..scarcity, etc.

The Surge has a grim story that is set in the future as the planet Earth nears the end of its life. Tough times have come with this dystopian setting. Many jobs have become redundant, and citizens must explore other cities to seek out labor.

The Surge Concept Art

The game will likely feature a unique crafting system and directional combat allowing players to dismember enemies. Though the Hangar 13 team have previously worked on Lords of the Fallen and are currently working on its sequel, we’re told that development of either game will not affect the other.

The Surge Release Date

The Surge will be released sometime in 2017 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
