LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Drops the Hammer for Thor: The Dark World

Cross-promotional marketing just keeps on striking at the right time.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has released a LEGO-themed poster teasing the release of Thor: The Dark World and the upcoming LEGO title, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes releases on October 22 and will offer an Asgard DLC character pack, giving gamers a chance to play as one of eight characters in Thor: The Dark World — which hits theaters November 8.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes is a multiplatform action platformer that features nearly 150 playable characters from the Marvel universe. This is the first Marvel title in the LEGO games franchise, which got started with superheroes in 2008 with Lego Batman.

The Marvel Videogames Panel at this weekend’s New York Comnic Con will also spotlight LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, previewing new sections of the game and announcing more playable characters.

If you’re going to Comic Con and want to check out the 12:15 panel, head over to the Javits Convention Center — Empire Stage 1-E.

As for the poster, you can download it here. It may be 3675 x 5428 — almost hi-res enough to see bristles in Thor’s soul patch — but this is a larger than life-sized 12ft. x 18ft. poster. The zip file also includes the psd file, which may please some Photoshop junkies out there.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes will be available on Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Wii U, PC, Nintendo 3DS, and Playstation Vita. Warner Bros. will also release the game to Xbox One and Playstation 4 in November.
