The Last of Us 2 Could Arrive in 2019, Game Composer Says

The Last of Us 2

Since its announcement during PSX 2016, The Last of Us 2 is one of the most expected exclusives for PlayStation 4. There’re still a lot of things we do not know about this sequel though. We cling to every bit of new info that we have with passion, on the other hand, especially when it comes to a possible release date. After all, who would not like to follow up with the deeds of Ellie and Joel in that twisted world?

In this regard, Wccftech has picked up an interview that the game’s composer Gustavo Santaolalla had with an Argentinian radio station. During the dialogue, Santaolalla mentioned that the game would be available by 2019. Oh, the bummers!

It’s worth mentioning that the composer tried to further elaborate his answer right away. Either because he was joking or because he knew he had spilled the beans. He mentioned that he has been working in The Last of Us 2 for a year now and that this type of titles requires at least two years of work.

On the official side of things, neither Naughty Dog nor Sony have ever confirmed a release date. While motion capturing for The Last of Us 2 started earlier this year, the game has been in development since 2014. It’s just a matter of time to get an update on the current status of things. PlayStation Experience 2017 is happening in December, after all. Whatever happens then, The Game Fanatics will surely cover everything there’s to know about this highly-expected sequel. Stay tuned!
