Jak and Daxter Series Coming To PS4

Jak and Daxter

Sony gave fans exciting announcement out of nowhere: Naughty Dog’s classic Jak and Daxter series will be making its way to PlayStation 4.

The titles coming to PS4 include Jak & Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, Jak 2, Jak 3, & Jak X: Combat Racing. The games are part of the PlayStation 2 Classics program and not remasters like the upcoming Crash Bandicoot re-releases.

While a release date wasn’t provided, we do know that it will be arriving later in 2017. The games will feature 1080p up-rendering and trophy support according to a post on the PlayStation blog.

If you’re new to the series, Jak & Daxter  follows the pair as they set off to discover the mysteries of the world and uncover the clues that were left behind by the ancient Precursors.

Jak and Daxter PS2 to PS4

Jak & Daxter: The Precursor Legacy is well known for its excellent story telling, vibrant world with several different locales, and brilliant platforming. Jak 2 continues the saga with a grittier Jak, new powers, gu

ns, and a world that feels like a dystopian Grand Theft AutoJak 3 concludes the saga, moving from the industrial world to a Mad Max-inspired setting where the legend of the Precursors and fans questions are finally answered.

Jak X: Combat Racing is a fun spin off from the series which turns “death race” into reality. While not crucial to the saga, it provides incredible gameplay for any racing fan plus the narrative tone that fans have come to love from Jak & Daxter.

Each game truly takes on a different experience. The first game focuses on platforming, the next introduces guns and a darker more mature story. It’s capped off with a final showdown in the wasteland to finally uncover all the secrets of the Precursors. If you’ve never had the chance to try these titles, I’d highly recommend you take the chance.
