Intel Showcases Self Branded Liquid CPU Cooler

It looks like AMD wont be the only ones this year bundling liquid cooling units with their new CPU’s. Today over at Intel Developer Forum (IDF,) Intel showcased their own branded All-In-One liquid cooling solution for CPU’s. These new coolers will come paired with the Sandy Bridge-E processors, these processors are not using the 1155 socket type that is being used by the current generation of Sandy Bridges. Instead  these will use the new socket type of 2011.

Some key things to note. The Intel branded cooler has a 120mm radiator fitted with a 120mm clear fan with blue LED lights. Intel has said there is no way to  turn off the lights which in my opinion kinda sucks but I’m sure most of you will use a second hand fan, Or just purchase one from Newegg or Tigerdirect for cheap.  Intel went on to say that these coolers will be put into the pricing system this week and will be in the channel when socket LGA2011 comes out later this year.  You’ll have to buy it separate from a processor and we would guess that it will retail in the $100-$125 price range. The Intel Thermal Solution RTS2011LC will also be backed by a three year warranty.
