No, this isn’t a Left 4 Dead prequel. This is a collaboration between Valve and Sony Online Entertainment to bring the No Mercy map from the original Left 4 Dead into PAYDAY: The Heist.
Before the outbreak takes place, PAYDAY: No Mercy is an upcoming DLC addition (no word yet on cost) that will put the heist crew from PAYDAY into Mercy Hospital before the virus outbreak, as well as reportedly giving more analysis behind the green flu epidemic.
The trailer, attached below, does a great job mashing up familiar sounds from both titles. But make no mistake: this is a map in PAYDAY; There won’ t be any zombies, though there are hints of “special infected” type units from Left 4 Dead 2, as well as a rumored cameo.
If you ask me, this sounds like the perfect excuse to play some more PAYDAY. Check out the trailer and judge for yourself.
