Gone Home Developer Announces Tacoma at The Game Awards

Fullbright‘s new project promises to take players into space in the announcement teaser trailer.

Tacoma is the name of the game and aside from the vague trailer, this is all we have to go on “What mysteries await you, 200,000 miles from Earth? Who is exploring Lunar Transfer Station Tacoma? And what happened here?” It’s an interesting concept, but with a 2016 release date and nothing else to go on, I assume it’ll be a while before we have any idea what the game will actually involve.

Tacoma is Fullbright’s second game, after the controversial Gone Home. Some accused it of not even being a game, while others praised it for its storytelling and themes. Personally, I thought Gone Home was great and can’t wait to see what’s next for the developer. It was announced at The Game Awards and has been in development since May. Originally planned to take place in Tacoma, Washington (hence the name), but Fullbright realised early on that they wanted their next game to be a bigger change from their previous work.

“…set on Lunar Transfer Station Tacoma, situated at Lagrange Point 1 between the Earth and our moon.”

As the game is still in early development, things are likely to change. Right now Fullbright are focused on nailing down the backstory for the Tacoma Station, along with its appearance and the daily lives of its inhabitants. New details about the game’s setting, story and features will be coming over the next few months.

Gone Home can be bought here and be sure to watch the teaser trailer for Tacoma.
