Are We Getting More Mortal Kombat Characters?

Yes, yes we are. In fact, Warner Bros Interactive just confirmed that NetherRealm Studios is working on a new batch of Mortal Kombat characters set for release some time in 2016.

These characters would obviously be for the series latest installment Mortal Kombat X (because who plays MK9 anymore right?) and will be available as DLC. The DLC will also come with new environments (new stages) and couple flashy new skins for the already existing characters. Assuming this may all be a part of a Kombat Pack like last time ,the price for everything may be around $30 or people will probably be able to buy the characters individually for around $5 (assuming the prices don’t go up for the new DLC) each.

Theorycraft away.

Now, the last Kombat pack included 4 characters and due to the image leaked by NetherRealm it seems like this one will as well. If it also follows the trend of the last Kombat Pack it is likely that 2 of the characters will be traditional Mortal Kombat characters while the other 2 are new additions to the Mortal Kombat universe. Judging by the silhouettes (this is deep theorycrafting territory now) it seems like the two Mortal Kombat characters might be Stryker and Smoke while one of the non-Mortal Kombat characters is Wolverine. If I’m right, feel free to post this article everywhere to show my genius.

All in all, Mortal Kombat X is still alive and well with the addition of this DLC to the game. More importantly, this will further increase the guilt that PC players have for buying an awful port and still supporting it through the purchasing of every single DLC. Yes, I’m on of those people and, yes, I’m buying all the DLC as soon as it comes back. Happy fighting!
