Get Your Fix Of Archery With Arrow Heads

Indie developer, OddBird, based in Toronto, have announced a new archery game titled Arrow Heads. The cartoonish and fast-paced isometric multiplayer game pits players against their avian counterparts with up to 4 players. Players can use bows while dodging arrows (or other sorts of projectives).

The game features online and local multiplayer where players can team up to take on endless waves of enemies. Thankfully, there’s an unlimited amount of arrows to use throughout the game’s unique and twisted environments.

If you’re feeling bored with arrows, OddBird added an extra layer of crazy by allowing players to unlock weird projectiles such as guitars, fish and even unicorns (’cause why the f*ck not?).

Arrow Heads features two game modes:

  • Arena Mode: Up to 4 players can go head-to-head, locally and/or online.
  • Arcade Mode where you can play solo or with up to 4 friends in the fully cooperative survival mode.

Additionally, the new indie title features a simple and intuitive control scheme allowing anyone in the family to pick up and play the game. Be warned, however, that you’ll grow a sense of fierce competition as you sling Unicorns at your enemies.

Here’s what Benjamin Scott, Co-founder of OddBird, had to say about this latest project:

“When we started developing Arrow Heads, our goal was to create a game that allowed its players to experience the classic fun and competitiveness of local multiplayer games. We couldn’t be more excited that what began as a passion project will soon be available for everyone to play. We think people of all ages will really enjoy this silly but engaging game.”

Arrow Heads began as a submission for the Level Up Showcase; an event that showcases the most talented students in game design, animation, and computer science programs from colleges and universities across Ontario. It was the first event of its kind to take place in Canada.

With its unique shooting mechanic, Arrow Heads won the 2016 Best Overall Game and Artistic Achievement. The archery game was also the winner of the 2016 ESAC Student Game Competition and a semifinalist for the 2016 Adobe Design Achievement Awards.

Arrow Heads will release first for PC on September 21st via Steam for the low price of $14.99. The planned PS4 and Xbox One versions will release sometime early next year.
