Family Guy Goes Back To The Multiverse Today

Activision announced today that Family Guy: Back to the Multiverse is now available for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The game, inspired by Season 8’s “Road to the Multiverse,” is an all-new story that is sure to have fans entertained. Writers and voice talent from the show worked closely to ensure that the game is an authentic Family Guy experience. That means every joke and every line is going to equal what you see on television.

The story isn’t a direct sequel to the episode that inspired it. Bertram is causing havoc throughout Quahog’s parallel dimensions and it’s up to Stewie and Brian to stop him. Activision promises that these dimensions are brand new. The game also features a drop-in/drop-out multiplayer mode. Both competitive and cooperative modes are available.

As any fan of the show can tell you, Family Guy is a fickle beast. Some episodes are some of the worst things you’ll ever see, and others will never get old. 2006’s Family Guy Video Game! fell short of what this franchise is capable of, but maybe Family Guy: Back to the Multiverse can bring the famous family success outside of Sunday nights. At the very least, it has the ambition to.
