Fallout 4 Season Pass Raises its Price in Two Days

Fallout 4

The deadline approaches! You still have two days to get the Fallout 4 Season Pass at its starting price of $30.

A few days after Bethesda confirmed the first batch of DLC for their wasteland jewel, they announced the increase of its price: from $30 to $50 by March 1st. Apparently, the three first DLCs revealed to the world are just the beginning of something very big. In other words, they have more than $60 worth of further content prepared for this year. “We are making more than we planned,” said Pete Hines, VP of PR and Marketing at Bethesda, “and we aren’t going to continue to give away $60 or more worth of DLC for $30.”

Fallout 4 Season Pass: To Buy or Not to Buy, That’s the Question

Pete Hines has been very busy on Twitter these last days, engaging and answering the community about this price increase. There are still a number of inquiries related to the scope of the DLC release plan for Fallout 4 and this may be a downer for a lot of potential buyers who may follow the wait-and-see path. Bethesda won’t give any more details on the remaining DLC until the team is ready to do so. On top of that, they have not disclosed much more about the testing phase apart from the fact that they will run closed beta tests for consoles and PC and that they are welcoming a great deal of applicants (if you are interested, you can head to Bethesda’s page and sign up already).

However, Hines mentioned that they will release several more add-ons this year and that they are bringing a lot of immersive content for Fallout 4. For instance, when asked about the Automatron DLC, he reassured that there is more to it than just building a robot companion although he did not elaborate further. Hines also reiterated that there will be no timed exclusives for any platform this time. “You can choose to buy all, some, or none of it, based on your own criteria,” he answered when a group of players complained about this last-minute reprice. Something you may want to think about considering that Far Harbor, the most narrative-driven of all announced DLC, will cost $25.

Of course, everyone who has already purchased the Season Pass or will do so until next Tuesday will get everything in 2016 at no additional cost.

This may be the time to check again on those official DLC descriptions – and to choose wisely.
