Want to Explore the World Like Lara Croft? The Answer is Simple… Geocaching!

In preparation for the upcoming release of Square Enix’s TOMB RAIDER reboot, Crystal Dynamics and Geocaching.com have been working together to create “real life adventures” in which you can become an explorer, just like Lara Croft!

Geocaching has become a global phenomenon in which normal people like you and I, search for hidden objects all over the world, using a GPS and/or special coordinates that are provided.  Incorporating the traditional treasure-hunting format of Geocaching.com, and Groundspeak’s latest photo-based adventure project, Crystal Dynamics plans to create unique location-specific journeys to “embody the spirit of TOMB RAIDER” and Lara Croft’s thirst for adventure.

“Many of us have been playing TOMB RAIDER since the first game launched in 1996, and we are excited that Geocaching.com is partnering with Crystal Dynamics on this project.  TOMB RAIDER is all about exploration and discovery. It inspires the adventurer in all of us, much like geocaching does, and we are excited about the opportunities that this project presents for both geocachers and TOMB RAIDER fans worldwide.” – Jeremy Irish, CEO of Groundspeak.

As of right now, no further details have been released.  Be sure to stick around though, as we’ll be updating you once we’re informed!  If this seems interesting to you but you’re unsure of what exactly geocaching is, then head on over to Geocaching.com and educate yourself!
