E3 2013 | Arkham Origins Gameplay Trailer

This week at E3, we were presented with a new gameplay trailer from the upcoming Batman: Arkham Origins. Looks fantastic.

In addition to Slade Wilson (Deathstroke), the rogues gallery includes Joker, Bane, and Deadshot (whom I’m very glad to see back). It sounds like a fun premise. Eight of the city’s most dangerous villains taking down a neophyte Batman. On Christmas Eve. Merry Christmas Bruce! We got you what you always wanted, a bunch of goons and bad guys to beat down.

One issue with this game I see (and prequels in general) is how do you give the characters more advanced tactics, skills and gadgets that don’t show up in the later iterations? Do you pull a Samus and ‘I lost them?’ Do you just not care? Obviously they’re going to add new features to the game (otherwise, what’s the point?), but will be interesting if they they to justify them at all. Look for more new about Arkham Origins as we get closer to the release date. I’m excited to return to Gotham and lay down the might hand of justice this October.
