E3 2013 | Wargaming Announces World of Tanks Xbox 360 Edition

World of Tanks is heading to the Xbox 360. Wargaming, developers and publishers of World of Tanks, is about to make their console debut with World of Tanks: Xbox 360 Edition. This new edition of the popular PC MMO team-based tactical action tank combat will be available as a free to play title for the tens of millions of Xbox Live players around the world.

This time around, publishing will be by Microsoft and developing will continue to be completed by Wargaming which was formerly named Day 1 Studios. Even better news, is that World of Tanks: Xbox 360 Edition will be free-to-play and a digital download for Xbox Live Gold and Silver members. Of course, the port to console did require some changes for World of Tanks with an all new user interface and other new features that will take full advantage of the Xbox 360‘s hardware and will also include revamped controls and multiplayer matchmaking. The digital store for World of Tanks will also be available for purchasing premium tanks, consumables, and premium accounts to boost experience points and accrual of the in game currency.

World of Tanks: Xbox 360 Edition is currently accepting applications for beta testing which can be found at http://www.worldoftanks.com/xbox .

As a side note for Xbox Live Silver members, World of Tanks: Xbox 360 Edition will only be playable for the first seven days.
