E3 2013 | Dying Light Teaser Trailer

Just in time for E3, WBIE and Techland  have released a trailer for their forthcoming free-running zombie survival adventure: Dying Light Best known as the developers behind the original Dead Island, Techland is looking to do something a little different with the zombie survival concept by introducing the ability to free run across the ruined city that the game takes place in. Although there isn’t any actual gameplay shown, we do get a pretty good feel for what Techland is aiming for.

Check out the new trailer:

Time of day is going to play a crucial role in Dying Light. The daylight hours are the best time to search the city for supplies, while at night the danger level increases considerably. More powerful and deadly creatures roam the city streets once the sun goes down and at that point, its all about surviving until morning. And that’s what the emphasis seems to be on…survival. Although, you can pick up weapons along the way (with melee weapons in particular seeming to play a part like the Dead Island games), Dying Light seems to be more about how much you can gather during the day and how long you can last once the lights go out.

Dying Light is being developed primarily for next gen consoles and PC, with a reportedly scaled back version being made for current gen systems. WBIE will have the game on display at their booth at E3, so hopefully we’ll get some actual gameplay footage very soon.
