Dragon Age Origins: Witch Hunt DLC

If you listened to our podcast, you would have heard me talking about Dragon Age and their DLC content. I mentioned that they need more character driven content and that I would love to see DLC that went deeper into the story of your companions, be it past, present or future.

I think Bioware took the hint by announcing today Witch Hunt, the newest DLC for Dragon Age: Origins, set to hit September 7th on PsN and XBLA at seven dollars.

 • Confront Morrigan in this dramatic conclusion to the Origins storyline
 • Earn powerful rewards that transfer into your Awakening and Origins campaign
 • Import your character from Origins or Awakening or create a new, high-level hero!

Now a few things come to mind. Bioware says that it’s the conclusion to Origins. Does this mean that Witch Hunt is the last DLC for Dragon Age Origins? Will the actions that you made in Origins reflect this DLC? Take for instance the following:
I played as a female royal human that fell in love with Alistair and got together with him at the end. Before the final act, Morrigan told my character to convince Alistair to sleep with her and to have his child. This would save both Wardens from dying. Will this DLC take that into effect and create a story around my actions?
Hopefully by using my character from Origins, the actions that I did will carry over into this DLC. I’m assuming creating a new high level hero will cause for the default story to unfold.

Will gamers be able to use their companions from Origins or will new characters be added to the fold. By looking at Bioware’s site, it has me worried that I won’t be able to take Alistair along for the ride. One new character, Ariane, has been announced and will follow you on the quest to find Morrigan. I really hope you can bring your own companions with you on this quest but I get the feeling that this is not the case. Two more characters that may or may not join in this quest have not be announced as of yet.

Either way, it’s just another Dragon Age: Origins DLC that I will be buying and hopefully it will be worth it.

In the meantime, we have this nice picture to look at while we wait for the September 7th release date.
