Destiny 2 Reveal Trailer, Release Date Announced

Destiny 2 Reveal

Bungie released a new trailer and announced the release date for Destiny 2.

Destiny 2 will be released on September 8, confirming an earlier leak. The new trailer, “Rally the Troops,” takes place in the aftermath of an epic battle. Ghaul, the leader of the Red Legion, has staged a brutal attack on the Guardians. The Last City and the Tower have been lost and Zavala and Cayde-6 attempt to rally the troops to strike back. The trailer doesn’t contain any gameplay. Bungie will hold a gameplay reveal livestream on May 18.

Destiny 2 will launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The game will be available in several editions, ranging from the standard $60 up to $250 for the Collector’s Edition. The Collector’s Edition includes a Destiny 2 Frontier Bag along with the Expansion Pass and other goodies. The Expansion Pass will include Expansion I and Expansion II. Players will get “brand new story missions, cooperative activities, competitive multiplayer, and a wealth of new weapons, armor, and gear,” according to Activision.

Destiny 2 Collector's Edition

With Destiny 2 revealed, Bungie is waving goodbye to the original. Earlier this week they launched the final live event for Destiny. Age of Triumph brings new quests, gear and challenges to the game. Additionally, the old raids have been updated. Players can now experience the Vault of Glass, Crota’s End and King’s Fall raids at current light levels. New boss challenges have been added to Vault of Glass and Crota’s End as well.

Destiny 2 is the follow-up to the 2014 original. Despite mixed critical reception, Destiny went on to be a huge hit for Bungie. A little over a year after its launch the game had 25 million registered players. The series follows the Guardians as they battle to protect Earth from villainous alien forces.
