Dead Island Provides DLC Worth Buying

Often we see games releasing additional downloadable content that seems a lot like levels they held back so they could sell them to us later. Or, the same old game with a newish map or weak twist. Deal Island is giving us something different: An entirely new playable character and story line. And get this, it’s the antagonist (I’ll leave the name out to avoid spoiling)!

If you found the story in Dead Island interesting then you’ll love this DLC. Personally, I though the story and the writing were some of the strongest parts of the game. I wanted to listed to the characters at the selection screen tell me the entire saga from start to finish. I was torn between choosing a character type and a character.

In this DLC add on, you get a more personal look at our antagonist and find out why the character was driven to destroy this beautiful island paradise (and maybe the world).

The DLC will be available on February 01, 2012 for the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and Windows PC. It will be available for 800 Microsoft points on Xbox LIVE Marketplace or for $9.99 USD on PSN and Steam.
