Creative Assembly Not Working on an Alien: Isolation Sequel

Alien: Isolation

Rumors started yesterday with the latest edition of Official PlayStation Magazine. The British studio Creative Assembly was possibly working on a sequel to Alien: Isolation. This news quickly ignited the desires of the fans out there, becoming a hot topic on Reddit. A burning thread that has briskly faded away with the entrance of the developers in the scene.

Alien: Isolation

Well, It’s Not Happening

It seems that in the end, Creative Assembly is not working on this project. The original sources stated that after completing their work on Halo Wars 2, the dev team would move into an Alien sequel. According to Eurogamer, while the team is indeed working on a different undertaking, this won’t be related to Alien in any way. In fact, the majority of team members who worked on the original Alien game are no longer working for Creative Assembly. This may further confirm that they are working on something completely new and unannounced.

Another reason could be found in the modest revenue that Alien: Isolation generated. Although the game received generally good reviews, sales didn’t do it any favors. Considering that the game sold around 2 million copies worldwide (many of those at a discounted price), Sega may not decide to pursue a continuation to the original title just yet.

We know that Creative Assembly has quite a few strategy games in the pipeline (Total War: Warhammer II and Total War: Arena, among others) so it will be definitely interesting to see what next big title they deliver.

What about you, Fanatics? Did you play Alien: Isolation and enjoyed it? Would you like to see a sequel to the series? Let us know in the comment section down below!
