Capcom’s Darkstalkers: Resurrection Now Available

Capcom’s newest addition to the Darkstalkers franchise, Darkstalkers: Resurrection, is now available for download on PSN and Xbox Live at a $14.99 (1200 Microsoft Points) price point. Combining two titles that have made their ways to Sony consoles, the compilation  Darkstalkers: Resurrection is a two-pack download that includes Night Warriors: Darkstalkers’ Revenge, released on PS2 in 2005, and Darkstalkers 3, released on PSN last year.

This is the first time a Darkstalkers game will be available on Xbox Live. Darkstalkers: The Night Warriors, the franchise’s first title, was released on PSN in 2011.

Darkstalkers: Resurrection is bundled with multiplayer enhancements including GGPO-enabled online gameplay, a replay sharing capability, and a Spectator Mode. Stemming from Street Figter III: Third Strike Online Edition and Marvel vs. Capcom Origins, the online engine has been upgraded to offer more matchmaking options such as region matching, ping lock, and ping display.

Single players and those new to the series will enjoy the game’s in-game achievements, the always handy Tutorial Mode. And like many franchises whose early games make their way to current consoles, Darkstalkers: Resurrection offers several unlockables including concept artwork, videos, and more.

A strong critic review showing is not available yet, but Darkstalkers has thus far scored an 8 out of 10 on both Eurogamer (PS3) and Official Xbox Magazine.
