BioShock Infinite Delayed Again

2K Games‘ next entry in the blockbuster BioShock franchise will be hitting stores about a month later than originally planned. If you were planning on picking up BioShock Infinite this February, you’ll have to hold off another month. Irrational Games‘ Creative Director Ken Levine has confirmed that the game will be pushed back to a March 26, 2013 release for PlayStation 3, PC, and Xbox 360.

It’s primarily polish and bug fixing,Levine told IGN, adding that while the game technically could have shipped on time, he wanted to make sure the game was properly balanced and that tweaks to the narrative were made. He also knows fans will be upset, but says “at the end of the day, the slings and arrows will go away. The game will last forever.”

The news came after a handful of game journalists got some hands-on time with BioShock Infinite, and so far there have been nothing but praise and positive results.

It’s the second delay for BioShock Infinite, which was originally planned to be released in October 2012, so while it may be a bit of a downer for fans, at least the team is apparently committed to getting the game as polished as possible before release… and that’s a good thing.
