Angry Birds Star Wars Slingshotting Its Way to Consoles

The incredibly popular Angry Birds franchise is making its way to consoles this year with the re-release of Angry Birds Star Wars. The game will be releasing on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, Wii U, PS Vita, and 3DS later this year on October 29, 2013.

Angry Birds Star Wars on console will come complete with 20 new levels, new features, and platform-unique design elements. The transition to console will also introduce a new multiplayer mode. Multiplayer will include two-player co-op mode where players achieve a combined high score, and a four-player competitive mode. Achievements and trophies will be available and HD graphics on HD capable platforms.

Since the release of Angry Birds Star Wars on mobile platforms last year, the game has been downloaded more that 100 million times. Jami Laes, Executive Vice President of Games at Rovio Entertainment said, “Angry Birds Star Wars melds together two of the biggest names in pop-culture entertainment for an out of this galaxy gaming experience.” He continues on to say, “Angry Birds and Star Wars are franchises with millions of fans around the world, and we’re excited to partner with Activision to bring the marriage of these beloved properties to gamers everywhere this holiday season.
