Alien Breed Is Coming Back! (Trailer)

Team 17 are remaking the Amiga classic top down shooter Alien Breed for both the Xbox 360 and PS3.

I remember the Amiga original fondly (for those of you who don’t remember it at all, check the youtube clip at the end of this post) and even though it was unashamedly repetitive I did lose many hours to it during my teenage years.

Anyway, Team 17′s John Dennis has talked about the new game and in particular, their strategy of releasing the game in the form of three episodes…

“In each episode there’s a prologue level, then there are five single-player levels and they’re really large…Much larger than they should have been. There are also two set pieces in each episode. For example there’s one where the ship goes through an asteroid field, there’s debris coming up through the floor and the air’s running out. There are also two boss battles in each episode, then on top of that there are three multiplayer levels.”

He went on to add that each episode will take five to eight hours to complete and that we’ll be able to download the prologue of all three episodes to see if you like ‘em.

For those of you poor, underpriviledged souls who don’t remember AB, hope this refreshes your memory:

And now, here is the trailer that was sent to us this morning:

Lookin’ good!
