Activision Says No New DLC Either

By now most people know that DJ Hero and Guitar Hero will not be returning anytime in 2011 and perhaps forever. This also means that there will be no new DLC songs for both games. Get comfortable with the songs that you currently have and if you want and haven’t already, there’s always Rock Band 3.

I have to wonder if sales for Rock Band 3 will go up because of Activision’s actions. Personally I haven’t been a fan of Guitar Hero since the second installment. After that, I only rented Guitar Hero games just to get some achievements.

As for DJ Hero, I’ve only just recently started to play and I haven’t had the chance to try DJ Hero 2 yet.

Game series tend to die after a while and in my opinion, I think Guitar Hero was trying too hard and too fast to be on top. If you start releasing multiple games too quickly, people will lose interest. For me, I don’t feel like paying $60 each time a new Guitar Hero games comes out, especially if it’s within months of each other.
