Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen | Details Revealed

Following the announcement of Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen last year, we have finally been shed some light on details about this expansion to the into it’s world. Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen is scheduled to be released for both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on April 23rd in North America and the 26th in Europe.

Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen is the next chapter in the Dragon’s Dogma franchise. It will be available as both a physical disc and a digital download, and will deliver a brand new area to explore, missions, enemies and more, plus content from the original game.

Just off the Gransys mainland lies the cursed Bitterblack Isle where gamers will embark on an all new quest to discover an underground realm, complete with new foes to stand in your way of incredible treasure. Owners of the original Dragon’s Dogma will be able to export their existing Arisen and all other saved data to continue their journey into the cavernous depths under Bitterblack Isle. Players will be able to also take their characters to new heights with new high-level skills, new augments, weapons and armor sets. As an added bonus, owners of the original game will also receive 100,00 Rift Crystals, unlimited Ferrystones and the Gransys Armour Pack, which consisted of six new costumes for free upon purchasing Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen.

Capcom has listened to the players! Based on the feedback, Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen will make the gameplay experience even more satisfying with improvements such as easier travel and a more intuitive menu system. I for one, couldn’t stand the fact there was no fast travel system, so this excites me very much. For those of us who’ve already purchased Dragon’s Dogma and the purchase Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen will have these nifty improvements automatically retrofitted into their original game save data. Not a bad idea if you ask me.

So, the big question is what will Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen deliver?

Aside from all the content from the original Dragon’s Dogma plus:

  • A massive new underground realm to explore
  • Over 25 new terrifying enemies
  • More skills/equipment/augments
  • Level 3 Skills: DD:DA provides each character class with a new tier of skills, giving players new devastating abilities and skills to master.
  • Over 100 pieces of new equipment. All new high level weapons and armor for players venturing into the caverns deep underground.
  •  14 new character/Pawn augments
