Visage: Good Old Fashioned Family Horror

If you think your family is dysfunctional wait until you’re dropped into the insidious horror house of Visage. Sad Square Studios is trying to build a that game draws out fear and anxiety like walking around your house in the dark and for those who like a good scare it’s going to be a great time!

If you played the teaser demo P.T. and waited patiently only to find out that Silent Hills was cancelled you’re in luck because Visage brings exactly that milieu of horror. What many are calling the “spiritual successor” to P.T. Visage is a investigatory horror game in which players unravel the mysteries of a house riddled with ghosts, secrets and death. The game – much like P.T. – is set in the 1980s. A lot of families lived in this haunted abode some went through life peacefully others were brutally slaughtered and it’s up to you to found out what triggers the gruesome events.

The game is built with the Unreal Engine and it looks astounding! The fleshed out hallways and rooms of Visage add emotional depth to the feel of the game; watching the game play trailer will certainly put anyone on edge. Indie development studio Sad Square has done an amazing job at creating atmosphere and tension, everything from the music to the footsteps add to the buildup of fear. The team has stated that they want to bring a truly terrifying experience to the player, as the horror game genre has seemingly been in decline over the last few years.

Sad Square is working tirelessly to try to get a workable game out to the public but with such a small team it’s going to take some time. They’ve given a tentative January 2017 release date and have stated they hope to release on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.

If you’re looking for a good thrill hold on a little while longer, because Visage is coming for you.
