Review
Last year and this year have really turned the corner on what and how video games of our generation should look and play like. Graphics have come a long way since the next generation consoles have been released. With that said, not all games have to be mind-blowingly original. Uncharted is a series that’s a great example of how a game with no original content (by taking the best of from other) can still steal the hearts and minds of gamers. Alpha Protocol however falls into the stealth genre, a genre that was flogged to death and its remains sold to make bubblegum throughout the late ‘90s and early ‘00s. Even Sam Fisher has sneaked away from Splinter Cell’s stealthy roots in the latest itineration, to distance himself from the worn-out genre.
Everything in the way of stealth is in Alpha Protocol and Obsidian dresses it in a sleek next-gen suit of Mass Effect-style dialogue. The dialogue branches, so that it affects the relationships with the various characters in the game.

The story, characters and voice acting are all great and you’re slowly introduced to the idea of choice, and how the way you treat others will have far-reaching effects within the game. You’ll find your relationships have all kinds of combat and story option perks – and not just if you’re nice to everyone. Different characters respect different attitudes and learning about them can really change the story.
The combat system however, is a bit more dated and at times feels like a flashback of playing Syphon Filter 10 years ago. Michael Thorton (the protagonist played by the player) even looks like Syphon Filter’s Gabe Logan. Something the customisation options can’t hide, even behind a big bushy beard, which can be worn in the game. Overall though, the game play is fun and straightforward, even though the cover system is a bite from the Gears of War system and can be frustrating at the most inconvenient moments.
Some big disappointments are the distinctly outdated graphics and animation that just don’t cut it a month after gamers are being swept off their feet by Alan Wake and Red Dead Redemption. Alpha Protocol’s branching dialogue and story are worth a look but only if you’re in the mood to kick it old-school with a stealth action title.
Sega has a great idea in this original IP, no doubt about it. But if a sequel is to come to light, Sega and Obsidian have some major catching up to do with the rest of this generation’s graphics, as well as the controls.

Still undecided on this. Looks quite good but there are a lot of mixed opinions about it. I'll definitely try it soon.

You know what, I’m very much incliend to agree.
I know all of the reviews are quite bad but I find Alpha Protocol very addictive and I believe it really is a wonderful idea. It isn’t going to really match to Mass Influence 2 which i’ve also played and finished though. There Is Certainly some thing missing, but it is nevertheless great.
With No becoming overkill and also expensive.
I just received my duplicate of OXM and i think Alpha Protocol seems to be alot like Mass Impact then i observed that it was formulated my obsidian enjoyment (The folks who fucked up NWN2 and KOTOR 2) both of which in which first formulated by bioware who did fairly a excellent job. So i was asking yourself if anybody discovered any similarities amongst the two

I finish exams beginning of May so ill have some good time for gaming and was wondering about this question instead of studying Neuroscience
I downloaded and installed the skidrow release of Alpha Protocol, but the crack doesn’ t work. the directions say to copy entire contents of the skidrow folder into the binaries but i cant copy the skidrow.DLL file, it say access denied, and yes i am an administrator on this computer. anyway if some one can help me solve this or find a working crack, that would be awesome.
