Enis: Still can’t get enough of Halo 4. I just want to get all the achievements, continue rocking War Games and finish the upcoming Spartan Ops episodes. Soo gooood!

Darrin: Call of Duty: Black Ops II — it’s amazing what Treyarch has done with the campaign. Split decisions that can impact how your game ends? Awesome! Also, Nintendoland — anyone who is not yet a believer in the tech behind [...]

Radical Entertainment Is No More; Activision Indirectly Blames Us Gamers

Video game studio, Radical Entertainment, who brought us Prototype and Prototype 2 has been shutdown by Activision.

Kotaku reports that Activision shut the game studio down because Prototype could never find an audience.

We received a statement from Activision on the studio’s closing:

Although we made a substantial investment in the Prototype IP, it did not find a broad commercial audience.  Radical is a very talented team of developers, however, we have explored various options for the studio, including a potential sale of the business, and have made a difficult conclusion through the consultation process that the only remaining option is a significant [...]

New Prototype 2 Live Action Trailer

Radical Entertainment has released a new trailer for Prototype 2, this one featuring a live action Sgt. Heller facing off against Mercer. This trailer reinforces that the story (at least initially) will be one of revenge. The trailer looks to be the start of the game, with the city being infected, and then Heller himself being infected personally by Mercer. It’s pretty neat, give it a watch:

11 Reasons You Need Prototype 2

Radical Entertainment has released a new trailer for Prototype 2, this one citing eleven reasons that you need Prototype 2. Frankly, there’s only reason I need: it looks fun. Prototype 1 wasn’t a perfect game, but it was really fun to play, and the sequel looks to continue the fun. Just give me a bunch of cool powers and enemies to kill, that’s enough for me. Normally I love a great story, but from Prototype 2, I just want great gameplay. I want awesome, tentacle and sword powers and use them to kill a bunch of dudes. A ton of dudes. Like a Dynasty Warriors amount of dudes. That sounds fun. Stay tuned for more information on Prototype 2, which launches on April 24th [...]

Prototype 2: Exclusive Hardened Steel Pre-Order Bonus at Best Buy

Gamers who pre-order Prototype 2 at Best Buy will receive Sgt. James Heller’s Hardened Steel Vehicle Armor, enhanced armor for any military vehicle. Taking place several years after the first, Prototype 2 follows a new protagonist, the infected Sgt. James Heller in his mission to kill Alex Mercer.

I am very much looking forward to Prototype 2, I loved the first despite its flaws. But I don’t recall being in a vehicle much. Would you rather drive, or run up buildings, fly around then swoop down and impale some poor grunt? I will be getting the game, but won’t be pre-ordering it from Best Buy. Prototype 2 will be available later this year for Xbox 360, [...]

Hunt, Kill, and Become a Monster In this Prototype 2 Developer Diary

In PROTOTYPE 2, Sgt. James Heller can hunt down key Blackwatch and Gentek (the scientific arm of Blackwatch) personnel, consume them, obtain their memories, and drive the game’s side mission content forward.

Heller uncovers whom these targets are by accessing Black.Net – Blackwatch/Gentek’s top-secret encrypted data network used to share information in the field – via disguising himself as a Blackwatch soldier or Gentek scientist and hacking into their mobile satellite trucks stationed throughout New York Zero.

As Heller searches through Black.Net he uncovers case files regarding specific operations that Blackwatch/Gentek are working on [...]
