What We Played for Week Ending April 15

This is a weekly segment where we share what games we are currently playing for our readers to get to know us a bit better. Said games can range from retro to current and from casual to FPS games. If we’re playing it, we’ll share it. Please feel free to comment with what you’re playing or your opinions on the games that we’re involved with.

William: Playing FireFall and it’s amazing. I also started Legend of Dragoon until I found out that I LOST MY PS1 MEMORY CARDS. /cry

Mass Effect 3: Resurgence Pack has drowned out some of my time. New classes and maps are pretty cool, and I’m finally getting in to doing Gold Challenges.

That’s about it… [...]

Mark Darrah on Dragon Age II and Possible Future

If you follow the Bioware message boards, you may have already seen a post from executive producer of Dragon Age II, Mark Darrah.

The main focus is that he and the Dragon Age team want to hear from the fans on what they want and love from the Dragon Age series. Could this mean more fan insight for Dragon Age III?

Hey everyone,

With last week marking the one year anniversary of the release of Dragon Age II, I wanted to take the time to share some news and some great milestones we’ve had lately with Dragon Age. And though I can’t say too much, I also want to briefly address what is coming in the future.

First, I was delighted to hear that the Dragon Age [...]

Charles: Went back and started playing Dragon Age 2 again, this time as a rouge. Now that I have all the DLC, it’s interesting to see the changes that they bring on, and the far out conversations the new characters have.

Jen: Had an urge to play Bubble Bobble when I was thinking about gaming tattoos. Thankfully I have Bubble [...]

Dragon Age II: Mark of the Assassin DLC

Watching the trailer for the newest DLC for Dragon Age, I get the feeling that I’ve been down this road before. Remember a certain DLC for Mass Effect 2? Need I say more? Regardless, this DLC seems to be fun and filled with action and wit.

It will also feature Felicia Day’s character from the live action web series, Redemption. Hawke will join Tallis in breaking into an estate to retrieve a relic.

This DLC will launch on October 11th for ten dollars, which is the same date that Dragon Age Redemption will start.

Check out Bioware Pulse at 1pm (PST) for more information and a Q&A about this DLC.

Dragon Age 2 Taken off of Steam

It seems that EA was trying to sell the newest Dragon Age 2 DLC via in-game instead of through Steam, which is a violation to Steam’s terms, this has caused Steam to remove Dragon Age 2.

Unfortunately, Steam has adopted a set of restrictive terms of service which limit how developers interact with customers to sell downloadable content. No other download service has adopted this practice. Consequently some of our games have been removed by Steam. – David DeMartini, EA Senior VP of global electronics commerce.

Get Mass Effect 2 (PC) for Free!

By simply checking out random gaming Tumblr blogs, I stumbled upon a blog post about getting Mass Effect 2 for free for the PC. I was a bit on the fence about it but I still tried it and I’m happy to say that it is true, Bioware is giving away Mass Effect 2 for the PC for free, as long as you have the Signature Edition of Dragon Age 2. Act fast, you have until April 30th to get your free copy.

Thanks to gamers like you, Dragon Age II is off to a great start – breaking the 1 million mark in less than two weeks and faster than Dragon Age: Origins. We appreciate your support. As a special thank you for helping with the game’s early success, BioWare would like to [...]

Thirty Days of Video Games Day TwentySeven – Favorite Game Developer

Owned now by EA, Bioware is hands down my favorite developer. They were founded back in 1995 in Canada and has given us such games as Jade Empire, Baldur’s Gate, Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Neverwinter Nights, KotOR and will be giving us Mass Effect 3 and Star Wars: The Old Republic MMO in the (hopefully) near future.

A simple company that was started out by medical students from the University of Alberta, they’ve truly came a long way to becoming the powerhouse that they are today. One major thing that Bioware does, is that they are not afraid and are willing to break boundaries. For example they have allowed the main character in Dragon Age 2 to romance whoever he or she would [...]

Thirty Days of Video Games Day TwentyTwo – Favorite Current Game

It’s no huge surprise that Dragon Age 2 is currently my favorite game. I’ve put in over 120 hours into that game, beaten it twice so far and I am now working on the third playthrough. One of the reasons why I’m playing it so much is because I want all the achievements. This has been proven difficult because some of those achievements are broken and won’t show up 360 side. Hopefully after uninstalling and reinstalling the Exiled Prince DLC, that won’t be a problem anymore. I’ve said this so many times that a game should not be plagued with this many bugs and issues. It’s heartbreaking and extremely frustrating yet I still play it and love it.

Even though I’m playing the same [...]

Dragon Age 2 Exiled Prince DLC is Broken

I’m planning on getting all the achievements for Dragon Age 2 (as I did with Origins) but this new DLC is making it very hard for me to do so. For my first two playthroughs, I wasn’t too worried about which achievement I wasn’t getting…I just wanted to enjoy the game on the first go and be as much as a b!tch as I can be on my second time around.

I started my third early this morning, and this is when I break out XB360 Achievements to make sure I get all the achievements for DA2. I started to look at the achievements for the Exiled Prince and noticed that I’ve done four out of five achievements. I checked on Bioware’s Social Network and to my [...]
