The  Trigger headset, for its faults, is a stable and reliable headset. They may not have the extravagance of other products in the Xbox-Licensed  line but they give an enjoyable experience that’s ideal for anyone who’s new to gaming headsets.

The Triggers come with the same style as the majority of all Trittons Licensed hardware, they’re sleek and pleasing to the eye without being garish. The Triggers look slightly more balanced than some of the larger models, giving the overall impression of being tight and compact. The build quality is of the standard that any  user would recognize – this is not a headset that’s easily broken. The addition of the fixed microphone over the detachable one found in other models also results in a more confident overall build. Despite the smaller earcups the Triggers still provide excellent comfort, they look small but feel much more spacious when worn. They can start to feel a little tight over lengthier sessions but it’s nothing that taking a 5 minute break doesn’t remedy.

They don’t boast the best low end; they can still put out some respectable decibels that you’re going to feel but when compared with others in this range they don’t have that raw visceral kick that’s usually present. The volume range is also a little underwhelming, despite the technically large-range slider to adjust with the volume usually ends up sitting either side of the middle. They stand out at their mid-lower range volumes, this is where the clarity and precision is really best noticed. They do however possess an excellent and well presented stereo-split, making them a solid and reliable gaming headset.

As with any Xbox headset, communication is important. Here the Triggers pull ahead of some of their more expensive competitors; the microphone is fixed and flexible, resulting in a reliable and clear level of voice that rarely falters. The option to slide the microphone up and out of the way also proves to be a well thought out design decision that arguably beats out some of the detachable microphones in Trittons other products.

The 14 foot of cabling is a little cumbersome if you sit within a certain distance of you comes to range. Sadly though this flexibility is only found in it’s gaming applications. As with most Tritton headsets, the Triggers can also be used in any audio hardware that supports a 3.5mm jack, disappointingly the jack cable from the headset is far too short for most uses. Measuring about 2-3 feet it doesn’t have the distance to truly be useful for listening to music on the go or as a comfortable option as a headset.

On balance the Triggers are a solid gaming headset that would make an ideal purchase for anybody new to the market. They’re distinctly comfortable over long or short sessions, offer a realistic representation of environmental sounds spread, are effortlessly easy to use and have an almost crystal-clear level of sound. They’re only let down by the mediocre low-end and they’re limited applications outside of a console gaming setting. If you don’t have a gaming headset and are looking to test the water these would be a well placed purchase as they provide great value for money and have an overall fantastic level of quality.r gaming rig but gives the headset a certain level of flexibility when it
