Review

Well, I will say it like this. A lot better than that awful thing called the 2nd movie in the series, and still not as good as the excellent first film in the series. Michael Bay director of the film, seems to have gotten himself under control a bit this time around with the sunsets as they were actually proportionate to how many days actually take place in the film, so that’s good. Other things I really enjoyed about this film? Well, there’s the awesome new girl who makes Megan Fox look like, well, Megan Fox. This new girl is so much better in this series and I think she was a wise choice on ‘s part.

Megan who???

Lebeouf is back and better than ever turning in the same performance as he did in the last two films, so at least one thing has stayed consistent. And we finally get to see Optimus Prime be a badass, which is what he should’ve been from day 1. For the parents out there wondering if the kiddies can watch…I will say there is one rather disturbing assassination that takes place that will probably give 12 year olds a nightmare or two wanting to keep a light on for a while, and this time around the robots actually bleed.

I think the action was by far the best in the series, however the two things they still aren’t getting right is the timing, and the . There are way too many comic relief characters involved and way too many characters throwing out one liners. There is too much focus on the comic relief from characters and the story bits with the humans tend to drag on far too long. Clocking in around 2 hrs and 45 min, this film could’ve easily been amazing had he cut it down to 1 hr 45 min. I’m dead serious, he could’ve left out about an hour of comic relief. Seriously.

All in all though, you go to a film for the action, and this time around doesn’t disappoint. It’s grotesque, its hardcore, its ruthless, violent, and doesn’t hold back. Also, and I can’t believe I’m saying this, but the film needs to be seen in 3D. There are some rather unbelievable shots that take place that I can’t even imagine seeing any other way. The 3D was excellent and while still nothing is on par with Avatar…this definitely put up a fight and is in a strong 2nd place as of right now. Definitely see the film in 3D. It was shot in 3D, it’s NOT a conversion, and I will admit that Bay seems to have done his homework as far as shooting in 3D. Worth it.

At the end of the day, Good film. I recommend it without question, but definitely eat first, as the first 45 minutes with all the comic relief jibber jabber does tend to feel pretty long in the tooth.

About the Author

maikerukun
Very little is actually known about either the origin of Maikerukun, or his true age, but there are myths and stories that have been passed down. According to legend, he was born somewhere around the turn of the 18th century, 1902 has been a widespread guess, as government photographs place him on the front lines in both World Wars I and II, the battle of Bunker Hill, Vietnam, and most recently, Dessert Storm. However, all accounts have him dressed in assassin garments dating back to the 1400's, thus bringing most to believe he was born more closely to the turn of the 13th century. It is widely accepted that he may possibly be an immortal, and his age can be anywhere between 109 years old to 709 years old. These ideas are strongly supported by his ridiculously large skill set and his surgeon like precision with everything from woodsmanship to computer technology. He is the definitive sage, so to speak, and he's ours and ours alone :) If you would like to contact him, we strongly urge you not to, as again, rumor is he eats souls to survive. Of course, this is your choice...you've been warned.
