Ahh..the memories..back where it all started..Mortal Kombat the movie. If you’re anything like us, this movie was a childhood favorite. Not because of the blood, or the fact that the movie was pure awesome-ness in a box, but because the movie captured everything I dreamed about…and yes, we dreamed about ending people’s lives with devastating fatalities. The movie begins with Liu Kang’s brother dying at the hands of Shang Shung the devious sorcerer. As the story progresses, the young champion, Liu Kang, joins forces with Sonya Blade & Johnny Cage in a quest to save Earthrealm from utter destruction. With the help from the thunder god, Raiden, and the princess of Edenia, Kitana, Liu Kang embarks on a quest that is far greater then a mere tournament. This quest will determine not only the fate of their souls, but the fate of millions.

Now as we stated earlier, both of these disks come packed with some nice features that are really rewarding for Mortal Kombat fans. The first feature we’re about to mention really hit home with us, because we actually owned this mini movie on VHS a long time ago. Mortal Kombat: The Journey Begins, the interactive 3D/cartoon mini movie… a piece of nostalgia we will never forget. The movie is a short episode of the three heroes on board Shang Shung’s boat, learning the history of Mortal Kombat champions & history. This disk also contains the Mortal Kombat movie trailer & Mortal Kombat: The Game’s trailer.

After the first tournament of Mortal Kombat with Liu Kang standing victorious, The heroes celebrate for a short period of time only to find out the great fight is not over. The emperor of Outworld Shao Kahn invades Earthrealm with a team of deadly warriors ready to fight & and destroy everything and everyone. As one of the Heroes dies, the Earthrealm fighters find themselves embarking on another journey full of twists and turns in a fight that determines the fate of the entire world. The only difference is that this time, they face more deadly foes, greater physical and mental obstacles, and no rules.
