This year was a special one for me, this is the year I visited my first London MCM expo. Earlier in the year I did manage to make my way over to Telford Comic-con, but honestly it doesn’t even compare, the event may be the same but the atmosphere and the scale are so radically different that it changes everything.
From the minute I stepped off the last train of my hour long journey into London and arrived at the expo I knew I was in for something special. I was expecting a large crown, it is the UK’s biggest Comic-con after all, but I definitely wasn’t expecting the sheer mass of people. The densely packed floor of the convention played host to every single niche [...]
So Ninja Gaiden’s back with this latest addition, I was fortunate enough to spend some considerable time with it at London MCM and it definitely bears talking about. If you’re the impatient kind, and don’t want to read the full preview, then i’ll simply say that it’s brutal, fast paced and fantastic.
The playable demo sets you in the shoes of Ryu Hayabusa once again, this time you’re in the moonlit streets of London, fighting your way through waves of enemies in the usual visceral style. The demo wasn’t massively long, only putting you in about 3-4 area’s, but it was a brilliant showcase for some of the new features. The most [...]
Definitely the biggest hit at this years London MCM event was a multiplyer demo for Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, seriously, it was difficult to get near this thing. Luckily for you folks i did, the impressive yet ultimately lack-luster multiplayer mode from Assassin’s Creeed: Brotherhood is back, and it’s better.
Whilst the multiplayer for Brotherhood was good, it felt a little unfinished, much more of a trial run for something than a solid addition in it’s own right. Well if it was a trial run, the Revelations multiplayer is most certainly the finished product. At a glance it may seem the same but there’s definitely been some TLC paid to it, [...]
There’re many sights to see at this years London MCM, if you can pull yourself away from the merchandise stands and cosplay events for long enough there’s some awesome games on show. One of the first I was able to get my hands on was a playable demo of The Darkness II, sequel to one of the 360’s best early titles.
The demo places you in the role of Nikki, protagonist from the original game and wielder of some wicked-cool demonic snakes. Things start out on an unusual tone as it flashes between you being tortured by some unknown and unsavoury folk, and an incident which presumably leaves you in this predicament.
Graphically the game has a nice style, [...]
