Call of Duty: Black Ops II Coming To 3D

Revealed today, Activision Publishing and LG Electronics USA the anticipated Call of Duty: Black Ops II which is in development by Treyarch will now be supporting 3D enabled gameplay delivering a state-of-the-art 3D experience across single player, mulitplayer and even zombies! The best part of it all, it's going to be available once the game hits stores November 13th! They're not making us wait!

Starting today, Activision and LG are together promoting the launch of Black Ops II in 3D across all forms of advertisement – TV, cinema, digital and even retail marketing. Starting launch night, select retailers will be offering a optional promotion for gamers to receive a discount from LG when purchasing the game along with one of LG’s CINEMA 3D TVs. The promotion itself begins Nov. 13th until Nov. 21st throughout 25 national and regional retailers, totaling more than 2,000 electronics stores across the country. Today, fans can catch the newest (and exclusive) 3D trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops II at select Best Buy retail stores nationwide. Be sure to contact your local Best Buy to make sure they’re showing the promotional trailer before making the trip there.

LG is excited to be a part of this historic launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops II to bring 3D gaming to life,” said James Fishler, senior vice president, marketing and go-to-market operations, LG Electronics USA, Inc. “From the intensity and cinematic visuals, to the attention to detail and heart-pounding gameplay, Call of Duty: Black Ops II in 3D further legitimizes the 3D gaming movement, and we’re proud to help the amazing fanbase of the Call of Duty® community enjoy it on LG CINEMA 3D TVs.

LG Brings Call of Duty to a Whole New Level in 3D

We all know by now that Black Ops II takes place in 2025  where advanced technology and weaponry make it all the more intense – and let’s not forget the robotics and drone warfare that will make this the most advanced Call of Duty title yet. With the option of having 3D enabled it’ll make the experience even more enthralling.

LG offers a comfortable 3D gaming experience like never before. For those of you who have all dabbled into the whole 3D experience will find this transition more than easy. LG CINEMA 3D utilizes polarized technology with lightweight, inexpensive and shutter-free glasses similar to what we’re used to seeing in movie theaters. For ultimate comfort, LG has given us the ability to customize the 3D effect with 3D Depth Control. All LG CINEMA TVs come with six pairs of 3D eye wear. So loosing them or breaking them when mad won’t be a problem at all.

As game developers and storytellers, we want to take advantage of every opportunity to immerse players in the Call of Duty: Black Ops II experience and LG’s 3D technology helps to do just that,” said Mark Lamia, studio head of developer Treyarch. “We are thrilled to team up with LG, which shares this same passion to bring gamers to the edge of their seats with realistic visuals and heart-pounding gameplay. And with LG Dual Play, for the first time ever, two players can each have their own full-screen experience while playing Multiplayer or Zombies split-screen.

LG Dual Play Technology Enhances Side-by-Side Gaming

Probably one of the coolest things that LG is offering is LG Dual Play Technology. When playing split-screen with a friend or family member, don’t you hate how your screen is cut in half, everything is smaller and harder to see? Well, throw those horrid memories out the window! I say this because with LG Dual Play Technology, gamers can see two different full screens at the same time!

Dual Play works when LGs 3D technology is applied to a 2D split-screen. The effect itself is two 2D images projected at the same time. In order to use this features you’ll have to get your hands on Dual Play’s glasses which are sold separately  Each pair comes with either two left or two right lenses, so instead of combining those images, the lenses allow only one image for each user. The main goal for all of this is to showcase a full screen for two players. I’m eager to get my hands onto these and give it a shot. One of the coolest small features that makes Dual Play even more valuable is that it’s available on most current consoles and even older consoles as long as split-screen is an option.

Here’s a small list of some of LG’s 3D CINEMA TVs:

LM9600, LM8600, LM7600, LM7200, LM6700, LM6200 and G2.

Now when Call of Duty: Black Ops II comes out are you going to take advantage of the 3D gaming experience? I know I’m going to give it a shot.
