BREAKING: Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Leaked

Within a few hours we’d gone from knowing nothing to a whole lot of something about Sledgehammer’s newest addition to the Call of Duty series.

If you want to just skip to the teaser trailer and the game’s release date, it’s below, but the night brought many gifts to Call of Duty fans. First in the series of events was Game Informer releasing the first still of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.

Next, a trailer giving background on private military/defense/security contracts was released. It details how powerful and relied on private militia are and it ends with the question “what happens when they start taking over?”

Superpower for Hire Trailer:

“What happens when the highest bidder becomes the world’s next superpower?”

This evening, a teaser trailer narrated by the instantly recognizable voice of Kevin Spacey was shown, confirming that the award winning actor would have some sort of role in the game (after much denial and a few supposed leaks). Although brief, the powerful trailer sets the tone for the new Call of Duty title.

“Ideas don’t determine who’s right. Power determines who’s right.

And I have the power, so I’m right.”

Then, after teasing a May 4th reveal, the trailer leaked. Without further ado:

House of Cards star Kevin Spacey is now known to play a major role, presumably as the main antagonist, in the newest installment of the Call of Duty series. Lending his distinguishable voice and likeliness, Spacey will presumably continue his recent trend and portray a villainous man with much political power.

Sledgehammer’s effort to set their game apart from the rest of the pack is well noted as there are profound changes in era, technology and political climate. Soldiers carry futuristic weaponry and pilot advanced vehicles, such as Elysium-esque exosuits, cloaking hovercraft and walking tanks, but who are they at war with?

Curiously, Atlas, most well known in Greek mythology as the titan who carried the world on his back, can also be seen written on the soldiers’ uniforms and equipment.

Lastly, the release date follows the usual trend of Call of Duty, having been set on November 4, 2014, and only the Xbox One version is specified in the trailer.

Did the leaked trailer entice you? Will Kevin Spacey draw you into giving this series another shot? Are you ready for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare? Do you think they could have thought of a more original name? Let us know in the comments below!
