Styx: Master of Shadows – Cyanide Studios' New Stealth RPG

Styx: Master of the Shadows (PC) is a new stealth RPG from Cyanide Studios, best known for their Pro Cycling manager and Blood Bowl series, it chronicles the tale of a Goblin, Styx, who has to work his way up through the Tower of Akenash; a tower which is inhabited by humans, elves and even Orcs. As a master assassin and a part-time thief he can remove any object or creature that stands in the way of him and his goal. Leaving a victim’s corpse lying around could cause a guard to spot him, revealing his presence.

Featuring an unusual vertical perspective, Styx has to creep through the tower, recovering information, while murdering and stealing to gradually construct the puzzle of his origin. These levels are open and have various ways in which they can be completed, allowing the player to choose their strategy. Remember though, Styx is only a Goblin so he is short in stature and will be beaten in open combat. The Tower is protected by humans, Elves whose knowledge of the science of magic can be problematic for Styx and huge Orcs who’ll eat him for breakfast! These aren’t the only enemies he’ll face though, there are other stranger creatures who protect the Tower. Styx: Master of the Shadows features a fully fledged RPG system too.

Styx: Master of Shadows also includes game mechanics right out of RPG, so as you gain experience you will unlock new skills, special and impressive moves and new and lethal weapons in 6 talent trees! You will also acquire extraordinary powers from the Amber flowing from the Source Tree which will help you out of a tight spot, make you invisible to the eyes of your enemies and which you can use to generate “disposable” clones of yourself! Explore every inch of the levels and not only will you uncover clues about your past but also, and more importantly, valuable treasure that you can steal from under the noses and beards of the guards in the Tower of Akenash!

Styx: Master of the Shadows is coming exclusively, as of now, to PC at an unknown date.
