It has been announced that McFarlane Toys will partner with developer, Ubisoft to bring the world a set of collectible toys based on one of the most successful franchises in video gaming, in Assassin’s Creed. McFarlane Toys has set a new standard in the action figure department. Making very iconic figures that are highly collectible ranging from a wide variety of people throughout sports, comic books, television/movies and a lot more.
The first series of Assassin’s Creed figures will feature seven different toys from the popular series. Of the seven, three will be fan favorites Haytham Kenway and protagonist Connor who will actually be available as two different figures. The first being the traditional assassin’s outfit familiar to fans who played Assassin’s Creed III,and the second disguised as Ratonhnhaké:ton in the upcoming “Tyranny of King George” storyline. All of these figures will be crafted with the fine detail that fans have come to expect from McFarlane Toys. The toys will stand at about six inches tall with an average of 25 points of articulation. On top of that these figures will come with a unique code that will unlock exclusive Assassin’s Creed video game content.
McFarlane Toys is planning on displaying prototypes of these sure to be highly anticipated figures at the International Toy Fair February 10th-13th (booth #4921).
Assassin’s Creed has become Ubisofts most successful franchise of the current consoles. Selling over 40 million units over 4 different Assassin’s Creed titles. This series has become one of the highest selling series ever. With the release of their 5th title in Assassin’s Creed III, Ubisoft had successfully released the best selling title in the company’s history. With the vivid story telling, exciting action and successful branching into different forms of media entertainment (novels, short films, comic books and more) that come with this series, it really shouldn’t be any surprise of this series massive success. Ubisoft celebrated it’s 5th anniversary of this series and has an Assassin’s Creed feature film in development. These figures will figure to retail for $14.99-$16.99 and will be available at major distributors and specialty retailers alike in the United States, Canada, South America, Australia, Mexico and New Zealand including Wal-Mart, Target, Toys “R” Us, GameStop, Amazon, local comic book stores and more. Fans of this series should stay excited as the first set of these Assassin’s Creed figures are expected to be released in the summer of 2013.
