SteelSeries Adds Mobile Controller, Flux Headset To Its Lineup

Mobile gaming has changed. We’re not just bringing our portables on the bus or train anymore; we’re playing on our phones. SteelSeries recognizes this and has introduced a new controller and headset with mobile gaming in mind.

While the SteelSeries Flux Headset isn’t a mobile headset per say, its intentions are clear. The Flux was designed for maximum portability, features an omni-directional microphone that’s featured directly on the cord, and is fully customizable should the basic black and white colors not be enough for you. While not presently live, the SteelSeriesFlux Configurator will launch later in the month.

But it doesn’t matter how well you can hear your mobile games if you can’t control them equally as well. Never fear, because the SteelSeries Free Mobile Wireless Controller is here. The compact and lightweight design will remind gamers of traditional controllers, featuring a D-Pad, dual analog sticks, four face buttons, two shoulder buttons, and an “A” and “B” button similar to “start” and “select.” The controller clocks in at a thickness of 20mm, a width of 55mm, and a length of 108mm, suiting it well for on the go gaming sessions. And don’t worry about compatibility; this baby will work with Android, iOS, PC, and Mac. Meaning you can play Temple Run, Shadowgun, Grand Theft Auto 3, Super Meat Boy, even some Call of Duty: Black Ops.

The SteelSeries Flux Headset will run $99.99, while the SteelSeries Free Mobile Wireless Controller will cost you $79.99. Both are currently available at the SteelSeries shop.
