  1. We get about 15 minutes of hot water followed by 5 minutes of lukewarm water and then it’s just pure cold. Since it is just me and my fiancé for now things are usually ok, but when we have houseguests it’s pretty annoying. Does this seem unusual? I don’t understand why the hot water barely yields 2 comfortable showers in a row. It also takes a full hour or more for the heat to return.

  2. A bath is filled up with hot water, say 42 degrees C. A volume of cold water is added, taking the temperature down to 38 degrees C.

As a proportion of the water that is already in the bath, how much hot water (42 degrees C) will be needed to bring the whole bath back up to 42 degrees C.

If you could show your working and explain any laws you are using that would be great.

  3. How to dress like a hot nerd for a Halloween costume?
I’ve got a Halloween party soon and I’m planning to dress up as a “hot nerd”.

What kind of things should I be wearing? And what kind of extra accessories (apart from nerd glasses and a bowtie) could I use?

    Anything creative? Nerdy/hot? :)

    thanks in advance!

  4. We have a 15 year old water heater and we added a hot water tank 3 years ago. For some time now all our faucets that are single handle don’t get as much hot water as our faucets with 2 handles. Is there a good reason for that and what can we do to get more hot water in these faucets without increasing the temperature?
The problem is in the kitchen and 2 showers.

  5. I am making hot chocolate (the hot chocolate that comes in the packets) and I like using hot milk instead of hot water because it makes it richer. My microwave is broken so how do I make milk hot without a microwave? And if it is on a stove or something like that, what do I use and how long and what temperature. Answer quick. Thanks!

I live in a flat. There is a gas boiler and I have hot water in the kitchen and in the washbasin from the bathroom, but suddenly there is no hot water coming from the shower or the hot tap in the bathtub. What is happening?
Ha,ha, no sir, I know well which tap is for cold and which for hot.
No, there is not a single tub handle, there is one for hot and another for cold water.

  7. First I lost hot water, had someone look at it and they told me the thermostats needed to be replaced. So we replaced them, we had hot water again, but now when it gets hot it smells really bad. help? How can I get rid of the smell?
also the hot water doesn’t last as long as it once did.

  8. I have started overclocking my graphics card and I dont know the maximum temperature my computer can get, how hot is too hot on the Alienware M14x?

  9. The Bathroom Faucet valve on the Hot water suplly line is stuck and needs replaced.
My water heater has a shut off valve on the cold water intake side but not on the hot water going out side.
Would I just shut the cold side off on the heater and run some hot water to stop the flow of hot water thru the house?

  10. I have a Worcester combination boiler. I have only used the hot water setting throughout the summer. A week ago I lost my hot water even though the heating is still working as normal. I have checked that the pressure in the system is OK.
    What else can I try?

  11. It’s supposed to be impossible for someone to get electrocuted by touching power lines as long as they’re not grounded, so how did hot hot air balloon manage it? Was it a discharge of static, or could it have been caused by touching two lines simultaneously?

  12. In some countries, hot water is generated in houses by heating large cylinders of water. Quite often, this is done late at night when demand for electricity is low, called off peak heating. The cylinders are connected to the main water supply and so operate at main pressure. But how do they manage to keep the hot water from being diluted by cold water when a hot tap is opened?

  13. My mouth is on fire i just had kajen chicken and i can’t get the burn out of my mouth help, tell me how to get rid of it

Okay, so I was at the store the other day and I saw the Swiss Miss brand. You know how they have different kinds like hot chocolate with marshmallows, etc. They had Hot Chocolate, and Hot Cocoa! What is the difference?

No difference, why are there 2 kinds then?

  15. How many minutes of hot water should you be able to get out of a decent hot water heater? I’m paying TOP DOLLAR in a ‘luxury apartment building’ and I know that my unit has a dedicated water heater. Yet, after literally 18-20 minutes MAX in the shower, the water is cold. It then takes several hours before another hot shower can be taken.

Is this atypical or does this sound right?

  16. i went to buy a package of sunbeam hot dog rolls today, they had 8 hot dog rolls package, and an 8 potato hot dog roll package. the potato package costs more, why and how are they different?

  17. Our water is not hot enough for more than one shower and want to increase the temperature.
Sorry, by my question i meant what was recommended for the people using the shower…i didn’t mean what was safe for the actual hot water heater ^_^;; hehe
