Welcome back to The Movie Fanatic! Where we cover the new trailer releases of the week as well as what is coming to theaters this weekend. Let’s jump right into this week’s releases!
This week has not been as generous to us as last week. Last time featured quite the variety and selection but now we only have a handful. Although we do have a big one this week being Red Dawn. As I mentioned in my Impressions post last week, this movie has gone through a lot of hardships. I think its great that it is finally coming to theaters this year with nothing else holding it back. Alongside the trailer premiere today, we also got the first poster for Red Dawn. Check it out below.
Here is the trailer!

Next up is Kathryn Bigelow’s new film, Zero Dark Thirty. After her hugely acclaimed blockbuster, The Hurt Locker, she is back for another thriller. I believe it was the same day or day after, but Bigelow jumped on the rights for the capture of Bin Laden film. I mean, it was sick how fast it was. It really is just a teaser as it doesn’t have the full 2 1/2 minute runtime, but check it out anyway.

This is 40 is another romantic comedy from director, Judd Apatow. This film expands on the events that happened during Knocked Up. So there really is no surprise to see Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann back.

No, The Trouble with the Curve is not about a grading curve, but more about a baseball curve. Threw you for a curve ball there eh? EH? I apologize, that was pretty sad. Anyway, The Trouble with the Curve is a baseball themed movie with Clint Eastwood, Amy Adams, and Justin Timberlake. Eastwood’s character is a baseball scout who is losing his vision with his age just as he and his daughter (Amy Adams) take a final road trip to Atlanta to check out a prospective talent. We had Moneyball last year, so why not another baseball movie this year?

Finally, we have The Loft. This is another remake of a Belgian film entitled Loft. It looks really interesting as the story involves 5 friends who own this loft to bring women back to. When a body is turned up on the property, they all start to suspect each other as they are the only ones with keys. It will be interesting to see how it all unravels in this psychological thriller. Not only does it have an interesting story, but a great cast of actors. How can you not like Karl Urban and James Marsden and Modern Family’s Eric Stonestreet. I must warn you, this is an R-rated trailer which is not safe for work.

So what is opening this weekend? Anything worth your time? Of course! There is always a movie that is worth your time. With 3 big names opening this week, there may just be something for you. First film I want to mention is The Bourne Legacy. As you may have noticed, Matt Damon is not this installment, instead it is Hawkeye Jeremy Renner. Although it is still set in the same universe at the first three films as it involves Treadstone and Jason Bourne. I’m excited for this movie and I plan on seeing it this weekend, plus I am a fan of Renner and Edward Norton, who is also in this film. Can’t go wrong.
Also opening this weekend is The Campaign and Hope Springs. Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis star in the political comedy, The Campaign. Now I am not a huge fan of Ferrell but I love Galifianakis, so I may see this. I know I will eventually, but it wouldn’t be my first choice this weekend. Hope Springs is your comedic drama fix with Meryl Streep, Tommy Lee Jones, and Steve Carell. It involves a married couple that have been together for 30 years and have to seek counseling to decide the fate of their marriage. So if that movie sounds like your thing, more power to you!
There you have it, this weeks The Movie Fanatic. With the small mix of trailers and what’s new this weekend. Let me know what you are going to see this weekend and what you thought of the trailers in the comments below. See you next Friday!

This looks pretty cool.
LOL! this is why I stick my my N64.
So theres a reason i didnt buy this game
Damn ! Never trust nothing but the best.
Interesting…
I mean when John Adams was president, when America was having conflict with France, when the Alien and Sedition acts came out, and other events that happened near those time periods.
everything in history says that George Washington was unanimously elected as the first president. it was says that the person with the most votes was president, 2nd most was vice, however, if George was elected unanimously, how did John Adams get any votes at all?
Someone should research what the Cowboys record is in games that Flozell Adams gets called for a false start. I bet it is pretty good. I used to get mad at him, but I have some to accept it. Everyone has hobbies. Some people collect coins, Flozell collects false start penalties.
Why does Jefferson ask Adams to present the Declaration of Independence? Was he really a poor orator, or was there some other reason? Was he perhaps not wishing to mar the moment by being overcome with emotion, or was he perhaps being modest? Or was there a political reason why Adams was a better choice to present the Declaration? And how come Adams doesn’t actually read the thing aloud when the time comes??
I dont know but i think one can be that John Adams does not agree with the laws where you get taxed, but he obeys them because he is for the law and he thinks its the right thing to do.
HELP PLEASE! :]
Personally, I find drinking from a beer bottle takes away the experience of drinking the beer.
With that said, what type of beer glass should I use for American ales? Specifically Sam Adams Boston Ale?
Thanks!
I am writing a paper on Ansel Adams and I need another photographer to compare his to. Are there any photographer who had a big impact of people/events/world?
Whats the usual age for someone to have an adams apple? I’m fourteen and of course my voice is cracking by now, but when is the usual age for someone to get an adams apple? And another question. Is it normal for me to have an extremely deep voice? People over Skype and Xbox think I’m at least 20 years old or so. I cannot believe people think I’m actually that old and I haven’t even gotten my adams apple yet.
I noticed some guys have bigger ones, some have smaller ones, some have real pointy ones, some are flat or smooth, some jet out far and others don’t and some are low on the neck while others are higher up. Why is this? And what purpose does the Adams apple serve?
American relations with France were tense during the first decade under the constitution. Both george Washington and John Adams had to deal with France during their presidency. Explain why American relations with France were tense during each presidents tenture and how each handled those relations.
This is for a SUPER hard history worksheet, and I need help!
John Adams’ participation in the boycott against this British Act of Parliament caused Parliament to close all counts and thus deprive Adams of all income.
Please help me!
or what was his legacy to the country?
Any links with this kind of info on John Adams would also be really helpful, thanks a bunch!
Where can I get infomation on all beer and ale that Sam Adams produces, A list of all flavors and types made. How many?
How were John Quincy Adams and Andrew Jackson both different and similar to each other?
How were their differences reflected in their approach to the presidency?
I need a current up to date family tree on John Quincey Adams?
…Wolverines!
I mean come on Patrick Swayze Just Died and they are now remaking. I just hope that when or if they finish the movie they will do it in honor of memory of him. It breaks my heart because imagine if he was still alive because chanches are they probably would have stared him in the movie as a Guest Star.
Obviously, I live in oklahoma, and for junior high I don’t want to go to roosevelt, i want to go somewhere else, so how long is the drive from john adams elementary, to moore west junior high?
I didn’t ask for attitude, dumbasses.
There is a question like this already, but the “best answer” doesn’t answer the question about her historical significance, it only summarizes her life. I wanna know how she was historically important. Maybe how she advised John Adams, or how she befriended George Washington and how that change the course of history. Maybe develop a thesis about her overall legacy and what she did. The “Best Answer” will be the most specific and the one that answers the question the best. Thank you
