I never thought the day would come where I would actually see a game hit extremely hard by piracy. I know piracy is an issue for everyone who creates some form of entertainment, but never to this extent.
Dead Trigger, a zombie First-Person Shooter (FPS) for smartphones from the creators of ShadowGun, have recently announced that their game Dead Trigger will be free on Android devices.
In a statement on the company’s Facebook (FB) page, the developers at Madfinger Games say:
“The main reason: piracy rate on Android devices, that was unbelievably high. At first we intend to make this game available for as many people as possible – that’s why it was for as little as buck. – It was much less than 8$ for SHADOWGUN but on the other hand we didn’t dare to provide it for free, since we hadn’t got XP with free-to-play format so far. – However, even for one buck, the piracy rate is soooo giant, that we finally decided to provide DEAD TRIGGER for free. Anyway – DEAD TRIGGER is not FREEMIUM, it always was and still remains FREE-TO-PLAY, that means, all players are able to play it without IAP! We stand up for this statement, because all members of our team are playing (and enjoying) DEAD TRIGGER without IAP.”
Now that’s really messed up. And would also explain why certain games are free on the Android space and not on the iPhone. I hope Madfinger Games hasn’t taken too much of a loss because of the cheapness of people.

Android is an open source distribution based off of the Linux kernel. In the world of Linux there open source policy allows people to create thousands of distributions such as Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora, etc. So what is stopping people from doing this with Android?

Spotify doesn’t support ios 4 anymore so i can’t sync my iphone 3g. Doubletwist only supports wireless sync for android. Am I missing another app that has this functionality for both devices?

I have an HTC sensation 4G and I can pretty much multitask in any way I wish but the YouTube app only plays music when your watching the video on the app. If you click home it stops playing.. is there a setting or better app that let’s you listen to music without downloading it and while using your phone?
