Capcom has made a big splash at Comic-Con 2012 San Diego. As if the 25th anniversary of Street Fighter wasn’t enough, fans will now have even more content to get their eager hands on. It has been announced that Capcom has teamed with Assassin’s Fist Limited have reached an agreement to produce a live-action based on the Street Fighter Franchise.
This series, titled Street Fighter: Assassin’s Fist, is going to give fans a look at the early years of the series most iconic characters, Ken & Ryu. Looking into the events in their lives when they were boys living a traditional lifestyle while training in Japan. Turns out the boys are the last students in the martial art “Ansatsuken” (translates to Assassin’s Fist). The plot of this series will follow the young men as they unravel the mystery behind their master’s (Gouken) past as well as the sad legend of the Ansatsuken martial art.
Street Fighter: Assassin’s Fist is being made by Joey Ansah, who was responsible for the fan movie Street Fighter: Legacy which was a very popular movie among Street Fighter fans, being praised as the most accurate portrayal of the popular video game franchise. It was among the most successful videos of all time on YouTube hitting over 8 million views.

This series will be produced by Jacqueline Quella, previously responsible for the following: Romanzo Criminale (Crime Novel), Academy Award nominated Don’t Tell and The Toolbox Murders.
Street Fighter: Assassin’s Fist will be directed by Joey Ansah who’s work includes a very highly regarded fight scene in The Bourne Ultimatum, and recently in the middle of the fray of the action in ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’; and is in the forthcoming ‘The Numbers Station’ with John Cusack. So the action should be pretty well handled given he success of Street Fighter: Legacy and his recent work in movies.
