Welcome back, True Believers! I just posted my review of the fantastic Avengers VS X-Men #7. Click the link for the review of the individual issue, but in short: it’s good. Really good. It’s taken the series a bit to build up steam, but now it’s going full speed ahead, and I have been really enjoying it. It’s like this story of the Phoenix Five was what Marvel really wanted to tell, but they had all the initial build up to get through. I don’t think anyone really expected them, but I do love the dynamic the Phoenix Five brings to the whole Marvel world. For so long, the mutants have been the endangered species, separate from the rest of the world, now they essentially rule it.
When I first started reading A VS X, I don’t think I (and most people) realized how much of a world changer it would be. I expected an event like The Civil War or Fear Itself, a large event, but relatively contained to itself and the tie-ins, and when the story was done, most would return to normal. This doesn’t really seem to be the case. It’s hard to say what significant character changes will occur, but Marvel has announce a few of the new comics that will be debuting this Fall/Winter.
The first one that caught my eye is Uncanny Avengers, written by Rick Remender (Uncanny X-Force) and illustrated by John Cassaday(Whedon’s Astonishing X-Men). A crossover of sorts between the Avengers and the X-Men. The initial line up appears to be Captain America, Wolverine, Scarlet Witch, Rogue, Thor and Havok. An interesting crew, to say the least. I like the idea of crossing over the two, and most of you know Remender is one of my favorite writers. We’ll have to wait until the fall to see what happens, but I am hopeful.
Next we have a new Avengers title from Jonathan Hickman. This one also looks to contain both X-Men and Avengers (and raccoons). This will come out twice a month, and looks to be a very large and exciting roster. I have to trust Hickman, though. He has turned out to be one of the strongest writers Marvel has on staff. Purportedly, he has outlined up to issue #63 so far. So hopefully this one will be an exciting title to pick up twice a month. One character I’d like to draw your attention to in the above picture, at the top right in the black and yellow jumpsuit behind Nova. That’s Jean Grey, not back from the dead, but timetravelled from the past. Which leads to the last of the new announcements. All New X-Men by Brian Michael Bendis. The story of Bendis’ new X-Men is that the original X-Men are brought forward to the present and see what they will grow up to be. A rather interesting idea, and I’m looking forward to see how that plays out. Three new exciting runs, for something to look forward to after Avengers VS X-Men.
This won’t be a reboot of the Marvel Universe (like DC’s new 52), but a continuation of the ongoing story. A story that has been a LONG time in the works. This started with Avengers Disassembled, then House of M, Avengers Children’s Crusade, Messiah Complex, Second Coming, Generation Hope. It’s been a long time coming, and honestly, it’s been a fantastic ride. It’s really quite impressive how far back this story goes.
Lastly, I don’t want to forget to mention that Age of Apocalypse #5 drops this week, and it is a great read. I really do love this series, and I hope it continues on for a quite a while. In this issue, Jean gets some field time, after some training tips from Horror Show, Deadeye and Fiend. She and Prophet face off against Quentin Quire in his first AoA appearance. As annoying as ever, he is actually insane, not just crazy like in the 616. Art continues to be very strong, although different from before. Next month looks to bring back Colossus. Should be awesome, can’t wait!
Until next week, True Believers

Hopefully this plays better than the last one.
After all, why am I being punished by being forced to pay for lazy, unproductive people who allow their houses to catch on fire? My house has never caught on fire. Nevertheless, if it ever did catch on fire I’m sure the corrupt, inefficient government would fail to respond in time. Why can’t Obama’s Nazi government allow me to choose which fire company to spend my hard earned money on, and decide for myself whether I wish to help people whose house has caught on fire?
Do you agree? I mean, true believers know he’s wrong. And only Camping will go into a nutshell at 6:01pm on Saturday May 21st, that’s my prediction.
I am a true believer of theee Bible. And know that, that guy is nuts!
I’m a Independent fundamental Baptist the only faith ever persecuted for their faith.
Christ is the Godhead the believers are the body of Christ which is the Church. When Christ returns there will be one Church no denominations; Christ will be the temple residing with us all- those saved by the blood of Jesus.
I have heard that those of us who are true believers will be taken before the world actually ends, but I am curious if anyone can predict exactly(or close to) when this magnificent happening will occur?
Because the light from THESE FEW TRUE BELIEVERS has been blazing across this filthy nation upon her gross rebellion against God (think murder/abortion, homosexuality, adultery/remarriage, fornication, idolatry, greed, lying priests, etc) causing men to be driven to such rage thinking they can shut us down with laws, counter-protests, vandalism and threats. All to the glorifying of God and spreading the gospel to all men. YAY!
I want to live for God and not live for this world anymore. But how do I go about it with out it being an extreme to the point of becoming antisocial or isolated? I don’t plan on joining a cult, just a simple church, but do i have to stop watching tv and listening to music.
Does Someone know the true way of not living for this world?

true believers -till GOD comes all plan to party ,when GOD comes u hang GOD on the cross ,kill GOD,get him out of the earth some how ,so GOD tries to speak through human minds ,we shot them with bullets & make sure that they get killed & never speak the truth we won’t like,so GOD tries to guide us without much of our knowledge we kill all GOD’s attempts by misdeeds……then keep complaining to GOD
most of them believe that they love GOD too much ,then expect too much, then suddenly when our turn comes to choose between way of truth & ur convenience ,v start choosing our convenience, when this happens v may find our self against way of truth ,then v start doing everything to prove our self correct.when v will come out of the way ,v start pulling out others.

If you are a “true believer” do you feel that you still have the ability to be objective about Obama? I have never seen people so willfully blind to this degree before.
Just if he knows the mind of every person, knows the future of every person, and than shouldn’t he know who are the true believers are and who aren’t? If he all ready knows everything, than why is he testing people on this earth because, he all ready knows what is going to happen?
Thank-you for you answers. I hope I didn’t offend anyone.
all of you are going to make it hard for me to choose a best answer when i am able to. Very good responses. Thank-you for your time.
I was recently introduced to the rich marvel comic book universe. I love x-men and all its associated comics, but when I found out the new uncanny x-men vol. 2 comic #5, has two covers, I was puzzled. One cover features Magik fighting with a bat-like creature, but the other cover , known as Venom Variant, has the character Venom dressed as the X-Men. My question is why two covers?? And what is the significance of the Venom Variant cover??
With organization like the EPA, CRU, NIWA and a host of others either suppressing evidence against AGW or using unpublished methodology to adjust newer temperatures upward and older temperatures downward, do the True Believers even care about science anymore? They seem to have taken the stance that Anthropogenic Global Warming is a fact and they will make the data fit their belief. Isn’t that contradictory to the scientific method?
I loved the way they developed the character. Yes I know it was nothing like the real origin stories. I don’t care, I already read those, and it’s nice to see a new take. But It really seemed like the story was more about justifying magneto’s views than anything else. I have for some time seen him as the most compelling” villain” in all of comics. Your thoughs? How about that f-bomb by logan? how great was that?

Back during the all-new, all-different X-Men storyline (where we were introduced to Nightcrawler, Wolverine, Colossus, Storm, and Thunderbird, the characted who, to me, seemed to have to most promise for becoming a truly cool character was Thunderbird. But before we had time to find out almost anything about him, his past, his personality, his powers, and all that, he died. It wasn’t even a necessary death, either. Usually, when the mighty Marvel bullpen is considering killing someone off, it’s because they haven’t had any shocking storylines for a while and the readers might be getting a little bit bored. This time, the all-new X-Men had just been introduced! All X-Men fans were now totally hooked again! There would be no need for the death of a character for quite some time! And yet, Thunderbird, a character who had showed signs of so much potential coolness, died.
THIS IS THE ONE THING FOR WHICH I WILL NEVER FORGIVE MARVEL COMICS.
God is here. They are looking/searching. Be wise and be as good as you can. I see evidence of people thirsty for Him on here every day. Thoughts?
A collected edition of the series that ran from July 2008 through November 2008 was due in March of this year, but seems to have fallen off Marvel’s schedule. Does anyone have any idea what happened to it?
OK! So, I just recently discovered the Avengers vs X-men (AvX) series that started THIS year. I REAAAALLY want to get a physical set, but I am baffled as to how they should look, and what stories I need to look into. For example, I discovered the first print #1 issue show A HUGE CAST of Avengers AND X-men characters on the cover, in full color. I am also finding issues called “Variants” which I am assuming by the name, are just different covers to entitle your “allegiance” (I’m with the Avengers/X-men) depicting artwork that has colored only the respective team on the cover. The stories don’t differ from the original print, right? Also, I’ve seen a retro-Teen titan kind of looking cover. Same thing? Different print? I speculated this after finding a 6th print version with black/white cover and a green AvX banner.
The other thing that has me SUPER-confused is the X-men legacy/UNcanny X-men/New Avengers books, that have the AvX Banner?!?! I’m assuming these stories are relevant?? Gah, I’m so confused! @.@ Then there’s the Avengers X Sanctioned thing with cable! O.o That is… a necessary prelude? only, I’m confused because I came across a [Hardcover] version on Amazon, but does that include all 4 volumes?
I’ve always loved comic books, but I never had a set to call my own. NOW, over 1.5decades later…My questions are, What do I buy? O.O The variants, are just for allegiance, correct?
So, assuming I just want 1st print, true to story accuracy, and decent background follow-up, I’m looking at:
Avengers: X-Sanctioned (Hardcover/all 4 volumes?)
AvX #0-infinity 1st print
DO I buy any of the AvX banner’ed stuff? (X-men Legacy/New Avengers etc?!)
Is this accurate deduction? HELP! Fellow fans, haters, optimistic, or whatever you define yourself! Help me understand! Oh, also, I don’t necessarily need the ENTIRE history of how Xmen/Avengers came to be and such, just things relating to this time. =P Hopefully save some of your guys keyboards. ^_^
Oh, and just in case I don’t defile some silver-lined ruling of sorts, I am not here to make offers or sales and all materials referred to belong to their respective companies. Copyright nor advertisement not intended. XD THANKS!
