I’m not much of a comic book guy like some of my co-workers but when I saw this trailer for Dredd my jaw hit the floor. I can’t believe its taken Hollywood this long to fund a project like this.
Dredd takes place on a fictional earth created after some major war happens and nuclear weapons are used. The survivors live in dome-like structures that act like a form of protection from the radiation and the mutants running amuck. So, think Big O without Roger Smith. Instead we have Judge Dredd opening up a can of whoop arse on the baddies.
The trailer shows off the three main characters in the movie. First the star of the film Judge Dredd, who teams up with Judge Anderson, who will help him hopefully beat up the main antagonist of the film Ma-Ma who makes a living selling some top level drug that takes people into alternate realities.
This movie sounds like the perfect action flick if it were coming out this summer. Unfortunately Dredd will be coming out sometime in September which may hurt its box office standings.

Hi there,I enjoy reading through your article post, I wanted to write a little comment to support you!
I’m excited to see Karl Urban as Dredd. Love that guy!
…with the advances in CGI and effects over the last ten years or so since Stallone’s Dredd movie, do you not think it is time a second ‘proper’ JD film was put into production. You only have to look at the success of recent movies such as Sin City, 300 and Btaman Begins to see what could be achieved now. Could it be 2nd time lucky for Mega City One’s chief law enforcer?
This question has been bothering me for quite a while, but i’m sure there are many people out there who think that Sly Stallone is a bad or ‘terrible’ actor and I don’t understand why. I happen to like some of his films, heck I even liked Judge Dredd.
Why is it that some people find him not so easy to watch? Is it because of the whole him always playing a tough guy thing? Is it because of the way he talks? I don’t get it…why all the Sly hate?
Let’s all admit that the 90′s were not the best time for superhero films, but they did help inspire the explosion of films that made up the 2000′s. Yes, most of the 90′s films did get bad reviews from critics to the general public, but before the Superhero film craze that made up the 2000′s (Special thanks to X-men and later Spiderman) There were some 90′s superhero flicks that I enjoyed. Spawn remains my all-time fav, but I also enjoyed Batman and Robin despite the criticism. So, let’s take a trip back to memory lane and embrace the campyness. Here are some films if you may have forgotten the early era.
Steel (1998)
Tank Girl (1995)
Batman Returns (1992)
Batman Forever (1995)

I have been searching for YEARS to find the title of this symphonic musical piece. it begins at the :32 mark of this trailer:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6X9FTY3bv6k
It didn’t actually appear in the movie “Judge Dredd”, but I’m fairly certain it’s from the score of another film. Can ANYONE please tell me what it’s called?? I’m desperately trying to find a clean copy of it!
Thanks!!

What comic book films do you feel got closest to the atmosphere of the source material. For example I feel that Punisher Warzone, translated the feel of the comic and character over to the film very well, as did Batman Begins, KickA**, and the first Spiderman films. However films like Judge Dredd, and Batman and Robin, From Hell betrayed the origins of the characters and the comics they’re based on.
But in Iraq?
apparently it will be rather dark, does anybody have any info on the plot?
i stand corrected, you are right maverick it is 2011. That is good as i don’t think i could wait that long.

I have been looking all over the net. Maybe Im not looking in the right place. Its to make a cross stitch for a relative who likes these comic book character. Any help would be great. Yes I know I am really sad so no funny comments please.
Was the shoulder pad in the comic originally supposed to be gold as in the film or was it a soft material.
I used to read the early comics and always thought it was made of the same material as the elbow and knee pads.
Please give an informed answer.
Hi it looks like that the 2 movies have the same police uniform. In my correct? Thank you!

Would the Dredd Scott Decision be one of those things they want to return to? What about Manifest Destiny, the Monroe Doctrine, and the Missouri Compromise?
It can’t be as bad as the one with Stallone that’s for sure!
Did you read 2000ad when you was a kid? I used to love them and they were cheap now it’s like a fiver an issue!
I think I confused it with the Judge Dredd magazine
