Incoming transmission.
Iconic captain of the Starship Enterprise William Shatner and SyFy movie producer Roger Corman will be sharing a stage at this year’s San Diego Comic Con, moderated by none other than cult film director Kevin Smith.
Both Shatner and Corman will be introducing two EPIX original movies after the discussion, each featuring a highlight among the works of their illustrious careers.
Get a Life!, a documentary based on Shatner’s book of the same name, takes its title from a line said by the legendary actor in his classic SNL skit. Astounded by the dedication of his “Trekkie” audience at a Star Trek Convention, he insists that the fanatics take up any another preoccupation. The film gives its audience a superficial look at the relentless Star Trek fandom and its infamously ridiculed convention goers, eventually enlightening viewers with their Captain’s understanding of the passion that draws Spock-eared throngs to the sci-fi spectacle.
Roger Corman will be debuting his first 3D film, Attack of the 50 Foot Cheerleader, which continues his infamous genre of campy 50s thrillers and laughable low budget masterpieces such as Sharktopus and Dinocroc vs. Supergator. The movie tells a story of a college student who sacrifices her under-par existence for a better—and bigger—life. Co-producing with his wife Julie, fans will enjoy Corman’s work (which stars John Landis of Animal House and Ted Raimi of Spider-Man) also shown following his and Shatner’s time onstage.
Those unable to attend the annual San Diego gathering can catch the premiere of Get a Life! on July 28 at 8pm EST, and Attack of the 50 Foot Cheerleader on August 25 at 10 pm EST on EPIX.
More information on both releases and EPIX channel is available at http://www.EpixHD.com.
End transmission.

Hi i have been looking at the Samsung Epix and was wondering if i had to get the MediaNet put on it. I like the style of the Samsung Epix but i really only use it for A LOT OF TEXTING and don’t need any internet. So do i need to pay 30 dollars every month to have this cell phone?
San Diego is very different then the mid west as far as gardening goes. I’m on a fixed income & can’t aford to waste my money. Garden centers here in Illinois rip you off when you have a question, because they only want to see you something. Is there a place in San Diego where I can find out about local garden news without trying to sell me something?
(Sex and/or violence every 16 pages.)
How much does San Diego Unified pay certified substitutes for a day of work? Also is there any program you can buy with their sub system to text you when a job is available or something like that. Thank you
would like a copy of the movie.
For instance, I got Coraline for Christmas, which I discovered was shot in the red/blue format and the shutter glasses I have do not work with it.
I have a Panasonic Viera 3d tv. Also, do I need to set my tv to 3d in order to watch? When I did that, it seemed to intensify the ghosting I saw on the screen. Will my 3d blue ray player only work on a 3d tv?
We *had* a non-3D LCD TV that died on us under warranty and, of course, the model is no longer made, so we were given a 3D LED TV as a replacement.
Eager to try out the new 3D now available, we’re trying to figure out which movie would be best to start with. We’ve all already seen Avatar in 2D twice, so we don’t want to watch it again just for the sake of seeing it in 3D.
Any other suggestions?
Thanks!
I want something user friendly, and easy to apply animations and textures with. Someone recommended 3D Studio Max which looked pretty nice, but is really, really expensive..
Something free might be too much to ask for, but at least something under the 100 mark if possible.
I’d like to use it to make animated cutscenes for a PS1-styled freeware game I’m making.
100 US Dollar mark*, I mean.
I just watched My Bloody Valentine 3d with the typical green and red 3d glasses. It didn’t look so good ( which I expected) and I wanted to know if there are any better 3d glasses to use for these movies so that you can enjoy them. I went to imax and the 3d movie there looked nicer, I am not sure if it was the 3d glasses or just the over all quality of the movie and the glasses put together. Thanks!
I’ve just got a 3d tv and i wanted to watch a movie which is meant for 3d but something that a 12 year old girl would like. It can be an animation and if it is an animation it doesn’t have to be for 3d.
I have become very interested in animation and want to get into it. What is the best 3D animating software that is perfect for a beginner. Any feedback helps thanks.
I found that the colour red/cyan, red/green and green/blue.
