EVE Online: Inferno 1.1 Coming June 19

Eve Online is perhaps one of the most interesting MMOs on the market. The sci-fi MMO has gained members every year since 2003, a claim that no other MMO can make.

CCP, the company behind Eve Online patch the game twice every single year, for free. Inferno, the 17th and latest expansion, is being iterated on, and the latest patch, 1.1 features some nice goodies.

As I mentioned, Eve Online was released in 2003, which was a long time ago, especially in the MMO world.  Graphically, the game has changed a lot since its inception, and CCP is continuing to make the game prettier.  In Inferno 1.1, CCP is working on finishing up the updated ship models, this time focusing on the Minmatar race.  One of the more infamous ships in the game, the Drake, is also receiving a face lift with an edited model.

War is a major part of the sandbox MMO, and CCP makes no qualms about this fact.  Over the course of the last year, war declarations – the system that war is moderated in game – and faction warfare have both been in the spotlight. Inferno’s major focus, in fact, was the war system. So it’s no surprise that in Inferno 1.1, the two systems are tweaked a bit more.  The war declaration system changes seek to make it more difficult to take advantage of free allies. Faction warfare doesn’t seem to be including any major mechanical changes, but player’s avatars will now be able to wear factional clothing, which wasn’t possible before.

Speaking of clothing, the in-game store is getting a new shipment of avatar clothing and personalization choices, purchasable from the in-game market our with Aurum, a currency that was formally only created by destroying a PLEX, purchased with real money (confused already?). To alleviate the hurdle jumping, CCP is allowing players to purchase Aurum directly with multiple price points.

There are many more changes, so check them out in the Inferno information page here, and keep it locked to The Game Fanatics for all the latest information on Eve Online.
