E3 2012 | Castlevania: Lords of Shadow– Mirror of Fate May not be What You Want

A new on a handheld system? That sounds great… wait, this doesn’t look like what I thought it would be.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow– Mirror of Fate may have the traditional 2D Castlevania ‘boxy’ map on the bottom screen of the 3 but don’t let that fool you, the is in full 3D. At first glance it looks like it might play the same as a 2D Castlevania but I quickly realized that it doesn’t. Once the camera swoops across dramatically you know that this is going to be a different experience. The new dynamic camera is actually pretty nice and exemplifies the well.

The is pretty much taken exactly from Castlevania: Lords of Shadow except not as robust. The combat didn’t have any force; you were just wailing on skeletons, who didn’t even recoil, until they died. Quick time events also felt hollow in a similar way. Despite this, it was fun pulling off combos and jumping over enemies to get to a better strategic point.

It wasn’t all combat though; there were a few platforming sections that involved swinging to ledges. This was handled well but felt a little slow and clunky. At least there were still secrets hidden away to discover.

Map exploration is still something that was a decent part of the demo but it’s nowhere near that of traditional 2D Castlevania standards.

The visuals looked good but the charm and beauty of the 2D Castlevania art is lost and we are left with a somewhat generic looking castle.

Sure I would rather this be a 2D Castlevania game but it was still pretty fun once I got over that it wasn’t what I initially wanted. Hopefully they tighten up the combat and make the game a bit more about exploration before it gets released.

If you want a portable version of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, this is for you. The rest of you should still give Castlevania: Lords of Shadow– Mirror of Fate a shot when it releases, just so long as you know what you are getting into beforehand.

5 is Symphony of the Night. This title introduced a lot of RPG elements though the essence of the game is the same as it ever was. Dracula’s castle couldn’t be any more magnificent and there is great suspense and innovation in the Playstation system title. Castlevania 6 – 12 did not live up to 5. Do you agree with me they should just make a similar game?

I’v been looking for castlevania games that you can play as draculas son alucard. And the only one I know of is symphony of the night. But I have seen people play as alucard in dawn of sorrow. How do I do this or is it a mod

  4. Ok. Symphony of the night was one of the best castlevania games ever made. Playing as alucard and all his powers was amazing. And if I’m not mistaken it is the best selling one too. So don’t you think they would wise up and bring alucard back

  5. I am aware that Mars represents how we take action, and that the Ascendant has to do with our personality and how others see us. Yet so many times I’ve read that the Ascendant has to do with our mannerisms and how we seem to behave, as others will see us. In itself, the word personality implies a type of action or characteristics. As related to actions we take, how is the Ascendant distinguished from Mars?

  6. what action would you take to rectify issues and to keep the property owner reliably informed, if after completing a routine inspection you note that there a number of areas in which the tenant could be considered to be in breach of the tenancy agreement. Items such as a dog being kept on the premises and failing to adequately maintain the garden. There is also a mounting pile of rubbish in the backyard…..what would you do as a property manager?

  7. start from the first game they made until the last one they are still making for xbox plz at least the correct order of the ps1 castlevanias
Which is the one where hectors woman rosalia dies?

  8. I am trying to look at some pass chat sessions on facebook. I have searched and i have received an answer to click on my action menu to look at them. The problem is, is that when i click on the person i have chatted with, i don’t have an action menu (the little box next to the X on the chat box). When my friend goes to her chats she can see her action menu. Is it something i need to upgrade to? Please help me!

  9. I just recently knew there was a live-action adaptation of the movie. I’m looking forward to seeing this live-action adaptation of the film. Please provide a link if possible. Much thanks.

  10. a. Receptor potentials move above the threshold, but action potentials do not.
    b. Action potentials are always the same size; receptor potentials vary in size.
    c. The action potential recognizes the intensity of a stimulus.
    d. Action potentials, but not receptor potentials, eventually return to the resting potential.

  12. I was just curious. If a man from the U.S.A asks a minor from Australia (who he assumes to be a 22 year old female) on ICQ Chatrooms or any other chatroom if he can be ‘her’ slave and the minor accepts, what legal action can be taken if the minor sends things such as a contract to the man’s email address? If the man from the U.S.A signs the contract, scans it and sends it to the minor (by email), can he go against his contract?

  13. Does Affirmative Action allow us to blame all moslems for the actions of a few? Isn’t that what Affirmative Action does; punish all Whites for the actions of a few White people centuries ago. Even in the slave days, only a very small amount of us held slaves.

So, if White people can be held responsible, and punished, for the acts of some of our kinfolk centuries ago, why can’t we hold all moslems responsible for the actions of their kinfolk today.

    Why the double standard.
