If you don’t know about this game yet you really need to branch out from the mainstream AAA titles. Quantum Conundrum gets many comparisons to Portal thanks to the people involved but that is very apt and it deserves such high praise.
From the start with a narrator guiding you around, to the pacing of new abilities and challenges, this game is basically Portal with an alternate dimension gun instead of a portal gun. And that is a very good thing. The dimensions I got to play around with were fluffy, heavy, and slow motion (reverse gravity is the fourth and final one). Fluffy makes everything soft and also very light. A heavy object becomes light enough to place on a pressure switch in this dimension. Heavy does the opposite but also makes things armored against lasers. The other two are pretty self-explanatory.
Each dimension also has a distinct visual style. Fluffy dimension makes everything look like it’s carpeted. Heavy dimension turns everything to metal. Slow mo is a faded sepia world.
What makes Quantum Conundrum more interesting is how it didn’t let me control the dimensions for a while. They would switch on and off and that caused even simple puzzles to have an exciting sense of urgency. Even better is that every time a dimension change was out of my control it was handled extremely well and I was never annoyed by it— something that could have easily happened. The possibilities with all these different dimensions working together, some out of your control, is a joy to think about. This is in part to how intuitive solving the puzzles was.
The idea to throw an object and then switch it to heavy dimension so that it could break the glass I threw it at came so naturally to me. Quantum Conundrum is filled with moments like that.
Going through the world they have created was preposterously fun and it flowed nicely. The narration was also well done and funny.
Quantum Conundrum was very fun and frequently put a smile on my face. Its puzzle solutions seemed natural and I didn’t have to sit there thinking for too long even when several mechanics got mixed together. The visual style also helped with that. Overall I was very impressed with this game. The way it was presented and unfurled made me feel like a kid exploring; which is pretty high praise.
So it’s a good thing you won’t have to wait very long to play it; Quantum Conundrum dimension shifts its way onto Steam on June 21st and sometime this summer for XBLA and PSN.

Xbox 360: I’m definitely gonna be buying some MSP (Microsoft Points) so I can buy Quantum Conundrum on July 11th, but how many points should I buy? I have 420MSP right now, so I only need to buy 800 to buy the game, but I know for a fact that it will have DLC for it in the future. I also definitely plan on buying Borderlands 2 September 18th. The first game had 4 DLC, so I’m sure this one will have at least one.
So it’s looking like I should just buy the 1600MSP. What do you think?
I read that, according to QM theory, nothing exists until a conscious mind witnesses it. How can any life (or anything else) on Earth have existed prior to human consciousness arising, if this is true? I’m a bit confused regarding this little conundrum.
I’ve never anticipated an XBLA like I have with this game. Last I checked, it was supposed to come out Q1 2012, which I figured would be in March. I read today that it’s coming out in the Summer. Which is it?

I have an LG Flatron W1943TE, with a resolution of 1360 x 768. I can play most games, but sometimes I find one that gives me a black screen when I play it and says my ‘analogue is out of range’. Problem is, sometimes I play these games, and then LATER they do this. For instance, I was playing Vessel just fine, and when I reinstalled it later on, it was out of range :/ the same with Vampire The Masquerade and Stalker. Just now, I tried Quantum Conundrum, which worked just fine, but when I tried to changed the in game resolution, I went out of range. I tried reinstalling, but it didn’t fix it. I’ve since restored to factory settings and it is still out of range.
I googled forcing a refresh rate of 60, and used Nview (I have NVIDIA) to manually set my RR between 59 and 60.001. They said this would apply to EVERYTHING. Clearly, it does not.
I have no idea what is making these games suddenly change on me, or how I’m supposed to fix it

I recently enlisted in the US Army which is a great honor and I want to thank all the soldiers that have done it before me. I’m starting off as an E1 because I don’t have that many college hours and I wasn’t in the ROTC program in high school. I’ve heard that there are several ways to get promoted to and E3 before even leaving to basic training. Any suggestions? Please advise.

For a project I am working on, I was wondering how much it cost to host an event like E3. Like the starting cost ect. that goes along with it.
Again there is a link between these two trailers, two shots built for the exact same job and to give the same effect. The link comes in the form of dialogue spoken over the trailer from M – James Bond’s Boss – speaking the words “when you can’t tell your friends from your enemies it’s time to go”. This accompanied by the visual of James in his stereo-typical dinner suit, slightly yellowed from the sand, walking in the desert towards the camera holding a large machine gun high in the air, dazzling sunlight beaming down on him as he trudges over the horizon with the same wearing the same blank expression. The audience deeply analysing every pixel of the screen for more detail until reaching a conclusion: Has 007 finally broke under the strain? Has it all been too much for him? Has he given up, or worse, turned bad? Is this the new rouge Bond?
The next analytical shot can be interpreted either way, both to support or challenge, just too really get you confused. It involves James in a lift, cocking a pistol, with again an emotionless expression, looking very purposeful. This shot is nothing more than a quick flash of light, the shot is in normal light in a mid-shot with the same music of low beats used to build tension with the sound of the gun cocking. This shot gives very little information of what he is doing there, it doesn’t show if he is there on a job or there on a personal vendetta, therefore can be interpreted either way depending on your outlook of Bond’s current behaviour. Is the glass half full or half empty?
The next observation is again from the Quantum of Solace and shows how little Bond cares about himself, or other people and just how ruthless he can be. The scene shows a dim lit apartment coming from cloth covered windows where James has been – shown by previous shots – in a violent hustle with another man whose identity is not shared. In this shot it shows 007 stabbing with force, this man in the neck and killing him. This shot however would be a supporting claim surely, James Bond fighting the bad guys, well the dialogue adds a new dimension to the conundrum: “You don’t care who you hurt” spoken by M. The effect this small piece of dialogue has is extraordinary, the shot no longer shows James killing the bad guys, but killing because he no longer cares. Has James finally got tired of leaving the mess for M to bring to justice? Has he got bored of letting someone else finish them off? Even if they didn’t need to die?
As of before these trailers seem to be very alike as another link occurs, this one from The Dark Knight and just like the shot before this also shows how more ruthless and desperate these action heroes are getting, and how less they are fitting the action hero standards. The linking shot is of batman crouching directly before the camera, with only a thin sliver of a man head appearing as batman screams “where is he” at this man’s face. Only a small portion of background is showing as the main focus is on the Batman and the scene is lit by few street lamps and office building that give very little detail of anything in the shot apart from Batman desperate expression. This shot is also been contributed by loud powerful eruptions of beats which matches the quick paced punchy editing of these shots. This as of the shot before it shows how desperate these two heroes are getting, James exhausted by what he has been asked to do and Batman by the sheer chaos the Joker is causing simply to irritate him. Both however are solving it in the exact same way: ignorance; and violence. James’s out of control madness and Batman unusual violence towards innocents.
This is for my GCSE English media coursework and i’d really appreciate it if someone could help me out fixing grammar, punctuation, spelling, any syntax improvements, or if you think i could put a point across better or even just a sentance you’ve picked out which could be rephrased, all would be welcome. I’m aiming for at least and A, this was last marked at a B, so any improvements would be useful, it’s due in on the 14th (Monday).
I will make improvements of my own, I’m not just getting all of you to do it, it is just better to have someone else look it over as well, as i might miss something.
