Yu-Gi-Oh! Comes to Facebook with Yu-Gi-Oh! BAM

As of yesterday, June 6, 2012, Konami’s Yu-Gi-Oh! will be available to Facebook users, the first launch of this nature for the TCG. The release is called Yu-Gi-Oh! BAM, and comes with some exciting features.

The executive producer for this release states, “ The core elements of Yu-Gi-Oh!, including specialist cards, Dueling and strategy remain central to BAM, but are further enhanced by a social media channel that allows for an accessible and intense gaming experience.” The game combines the long-standing principles of the card game and offers the option to play against friends, adding 300 cards, specially changed for the new gaming experience. Perks can be earned, and for those new to the series, or those rusty, there are tutorials to help the novice and experienced alike reach higher levels of skill.

That's a lot of cards, there, Konami.

To further make the game approachable and open to all players, Deck-building can be done two ways. First, players can select from the cards they have, further customizing the feel of the game. For those who choose, there is also a mode allowing the player to build a Deck instantly, creating the most appropriate combination of cards for Dueling. This allows for easy entry into Duels with friends and in-game players.

With Yu-Gi-Oh!’s history (a staggering 25 billion-plus cards sold), this new Facebook game continues a legacy of Dueling with monsters, magic, and other mischief.
