It looks like Lara Croft is going to be taken through a rather bumpy ride as Tomb Raider is spectacularly shown off at Microsoft’s E3 2012 press conference.
The game’s emphasis seems to be firmly set on survival as Lara was shown going from a cliff-side skirmish, to hurtling down river-rapids, to parachuting straight into a thick spiky forest. Visually, it’s no exaggeration to say the game looked incredible, nailing the island’s imposing atmosphere perfectly.
Another point of note was the announcement that the game’s DLC will be coming to Xbox 360 first. We’ve heard rumors PS3 users worldwide actually face palmed in unison.
Check out the full Tomb Raider trailer below.

Im sure you had fun writing this article eh?
I want to go as Lara Croft to a party but the pre-made costumes from shops, always look tacky and are always expensive. Anyone know where I might be able to some stuff to make my own.

I loved this game on my old sega saturn and heard it was out for PC/DOS. I have searched all over the place and cant find it. anyone know where a working torrent or something I can get a full and working version of “The Horde” is? I am currently downloading old 3D0 versions of the game but it has very poor quality hosts and will take a horrendous amount of time.
I did have a saturn emulator and got the game (supposedly) but never worked properly. I could try it again though, maybe someone got a little update and a fix haha
January 30, 2006 – With a history as legendary and as checkered as Tomb Raider’s, one must wonder how Eidos keeps the idea of another Tomb Raider fresh in anyone’s head. The answer, at least for early January 2006, is to drop a little demo disc into the open hands of the online press corps. Tomb Raider Legend, due on Xbox, PS2, Xbox 360, PSP, and PC this spring, is the seventh Tomb Raider game in less than 10 years, and it’s undergone the biggest transformation the series has seen to date. It’s an old game Crystal Dynamics is hoping to renew and the biggest changes are both subtle yet instantly noticeable. They should greatly please old Tomb Raider fans such as me. But will new adventure-loving gamers who’ve played the likes of Prince of Persia instantly fall in love with Lara? Or will they still feel like Lara is a relic of the past?
The split-level demo we have is a consumer demo: It’s coming to OPM in April on PS2 and then to retail stores in May. The demo doesn’t even comprise an entire level, so the idea is more about whetting our appetites than giving us in-depth preview code. We took about 15-20 minutes to beat it and found the disc offered us a little of everything: rock climbing, rope swinging, shooting and combat, swimming, puzzle solving, and a few new tricks. What we learned from this demo is Tomb Raider still heavily focuses on adventuring. You’re primary objective is to figure out how to get from point A to point B. A little gun action, some puzzle solving including occasional physics puzzles, and a little story progression fill in the gaps. Crystal Dynamics said the final game is split between about 75% adventure and 25% action.
Perfect posture.
After a long period of research, Crystal Dynamics felt that restoring Lara Croft and the Tomb Raider series to its roots was important. The focus, Crystal has told us, is to get Lara into a lot of adventuring scenarios, to solve puzzles that don’t require you to pull hard-to-see levers on each side of London (see Tomb Raider 3 for that), and to include action and shooting sequences, but not to dwell on them. She’s a spelunker, not Rambo; although if you saw the Tomb Raider movies starring Angelina Jolie, you might think differently.
In the demo you find yourself climbing mountainsides in Bolivia in search of an ornate stone dais. Crystal Dynamics has ditched the mathematical checkerboard controls that have haunted all the previous games in the series. Lara is now free to go where she wants. Her list of actions is larger than before too. You’ll immediately notice how flexible and generally easy she is to control on any surface, whether it’s simply walking or running around, climbing rocky ledges, swimming, or making precision jumps. The only problem I experienced happened when I tried to jump from a vine to a ledge. The animation I learned a little after my leg-breaking death actually shows you when to jump. While on a rope, vine, or chain, moving the controller to the left or the right starts Lara’s animation. Let’s say you want her to jump right. While using an Xbox or PS2 controller you point the analog stick right, after which she starts prepping. When she is fully extended in the right direction, press the jump button for a successful jump.
New lairs to thieve.
For anyone who’s played the old games, this new control scheme is clearly smoother, more intuitive, and less rigid. Lara is capable of moving quickly and smoothly in numerous situations. If you press a button rapidly while shimmying across a cliff side, she will rhythmically and rapidly shift across the rocky surface. She no longer feels like her boots are magnetically stuck to the ground. Is she the next Prince of Persia? No, sir. But is she highly improved over her old bad self? Yes, sir.

I know I really shouldn’t be doing this, but I have no idea what else to do. Im 13 years old, female, in grade 8 and I have to write a 5 paragraph essay about the power of water. This concludes the opening paragraph, one about tsunamis, one about avalanches, one about landslides, and a closing paragraph. I got the first four done, but I’m really stumped on the closing paragraph! It would mean the world to me if you guys could give me some ideas on how to close it. It has to be between 5-8 sentences. Here is what i have for my first 4 paragraphs:
Power of Water
Water plays an extremely large role in everyday life. It covers 70.9% of the Earth’s surface, and is necessary for all known forms of life. On earth, it is mostly found in oceans and other large bodies of water. 1.6% of water below ground in aquifers and 0.001% in the air as vapor, clouds, and precipitation. Oceans hold 97% of surface water, glaciers and polar ice caps is 2.4%, and other land surface water such as rivers, lakes and ponds is 0.6%. A very small amount of Earth’s water is contained within biological bodies and manufactured products. As you can see, water is a very big necessity, but sometimes instead of helping, it destroys. There are many harmful forms of water such as tsunamis, avalanches, and landslides.
A tsunami is a series of ocean waves that sends surges of water, sometimes reaching heights of over 100 feet onto land. These waves can cause a lot of damage when they crash ashore. They are usually caused by big undersea earthquakes at tectonic plate boundaries. When the ocean floor rises or falls suddenly, it displaces the water above it and launches the rolling waves that will turn into a tsunami. Around 80% of these overwhelming water flows happen within the Pacific Ocean’s “Ring of Fire”. This area is a geologically active area where tectonic shifts make volcanoes and earthquakes common. Tsunamis are also caused by underwater landslides or volcanic eruptions. In deep oceans, tsunami waves may appear only a foot or so high, but, as they approach shoreline and enter shallower water they slow down and begin to grow in energy and height. The tops of the waves move faster than their bottoms do, which causes them to rise precipitously. The best defense against any tsunami is early warning that allows people to seek higher ground.
An Avalanche is a huge mass of ice and snow that breaks away from the side of a mountain and surges downward at great speed. There are three main types of avalanches and the first one is a wet-snow avalanche. These usually occur during the spring. Also, there are dry-snow avalanches that are the more deadly ones. Last but not least is a slab avalanche which happens when a huge chunk of solid snow breaks away from a slope and slides across a layer of loose snow crystals lying beneath. Most avalanches result from weather conditions that cause snow on a mountain slope to become unstable. Such disturbances as heavy winds, earth tremors, and explosions can send the snow sliding down. Skiers have started many avalanches. Weather is the most important factor in determining if an avalanche will even occur.
Landslides are rock, earth, or debris flows on slopes due to gravity. They can occur on any ground given the right conditions of soil, moisture, and the angle of slope. Necessary to the natural process of the earth’s surface geology, landslides serve to rearrange soil and debris in a process that can be in sudden collapses or in slow, even slides. Such is the nature of the earth’s surface dynamics. Also known as mud flows, debris flows, earth failures, slope failures, etc., they can be triggered by rains, floods, earthquakes, and other natural causes as well as human-made causes, such as grading, ground cutting and filling, continuous development, etc. Because the factors affecting landslides can be geophysical or human-made, they can occur in developed areas, undeveloped areas, or any area where the terrain was altered for roads, houses, utilities, buildings, and even for lawns in someones backyard. They occur in all different places with changing frequency and more than half the countries and states have rates sufficient to be classified as a significant natural hazard.
Please help!

This is a petition basically a document to show Eidos and crystal Dynamics how many people want to see a new legacy of kain game considering the story never concluded.
Also what would you like to see in the next LOK game if it is made.
Signing petition would be
most helpful…thank you
Now… Metallica’s totally unprofessional eff-up aside, a lot of metal music out there *is* pushed to the limit and still sounds incredibly good. I’m listening to Bodom right now and their production is fantastic; I’ve imported several tracks to see how brickwalled their sound is, and sure enough, they’re pushing red. Somehow there’s still plenty of breathing room for dynamics and I appreciate it.
Obviously distorted guitars can be limited and compressed and still sound good.
But what about drums? Drums’ sound are all over the place, from crystal cymbals and thudding snare to the rolling thunder of bass and reverberating toms.
I’ve never read any drummer complaining about their sound (I don’t read drummer rags though). But in the hopes of squeezing as much loudness out of today’s heavy metal, are drums being sacrificed and no one is acknowledging it?
Back in 1996 when i bought tomb raider 1. it was one of the best games i played, the graphics wernt that good but when you were stuck you WERE stuck and the same with 2,3,4,5 and now 6,legend, underworld and of course gaurdian of light, when i god AOD when it first came out for ps2 i was instantly not a fan of it and this was when they got rid of core design and there were to many bugs and glitches and i felt let down, now legend the first game to be published by Crystal Dynamics, i have to say it was excellent because of all the graphics but it was way too short believe it or not i completed it in 1 day and even found all secrets, now underworld the 3rd by crustal dynamics and new square enix who bought eidos interactive and yet again TOO SHORT personally i remember the likes of tomb raider 4 what had about 36 levels and was too hard well for me it was and im gonna give up with gaudian of light cause ive seen how many levels they were and guess what the same as legend and underworld, thats me clocked a game the day after i got it, and i just want your opinions guys about my topic, is it the new takeover of tomb raider or the new staff. AMEN
I left out anniversary people because it was similar to the 1st game and actually enjoyed this one….peace out
The storyline of Tomb Raider: Underworld is based on the legends of the old Maya’s. During 5 dangerous days, at the end of the Meso-Americans calendar year, the gates of the underworld open and release all kinds of evil ghosts and horrible creatues. Even a flood of tragedies and disasters on earth.
The next Tomb Raider adventure is coming! It looks as if the newest addition to this epic franchise is set to be released around the same period as Tomb Raider: Legend and Tomb Raider: Anniversary.
Tomb Raider 8, which has been named Tomb Raider: Underworld, is going be a Tomb Raider game like you have never seen before. Everything looks so realistic! It will be a next generation game like no other.
In Tomb Raider: Underworld ‘isolation’ is one of the key elements. The game will be appreciated and revered by both Crystal Dynamics fans and Core Design fans alike. The game contains many challenging puzzels, and will have longer gameplay than Tomb Raider: Legend.
Whether the lens is a solid crystal or gas, how does the
process work. I was told that the lens steps up the intensity
of the coherent light wave, just as a transformer would step
up the voltage of electricity. What spectrums of light do lasers
operate in. Any references- books, web sties would be
appriciated. thanks
Does anyone know if eidos or crystal dynamics hasve any plans on a remasterd tomb raider 2 I’d like to see it either on disc copy or for download via Xbox live or PSN
Whenever i press Ctrl C to copy either from MS office programs or GP Dynamics or Crystal reports, all these programs freeze together. None of the programs function for sometime and then after about 10 – 15 minutes it starts working.
i had a demo version of lara croft game and now i want to download the full game. can anybody tell where would i get it?
What is some really good trailer music? Not ridiculously epic, but kind of like the music in the Tomb Raider 2012 E3 gameplay trailer when the ‘Crystal Dynamics’ words come up. I’d link it but I’m on my phone
